I see that www.scaleflying.com offers this EC 145, however they sell it for the TREX500...

I looked at the dimensions on the Skyhunter site, and the dimensions they state for the 600e model is the same size that scaleflying.com states for the Trex 500 model..

Does the fuselage work with either the Trex 500 or the Trex 600?

Thanks for clarifying..

PS-- what is SkyHunter selling this one for?

And lastly, what are your impressions of the quality/detail of the kit?

Thanks for all the info !

EC-145

Here are a few more pics taped together. I did take a measurement and the lenght appears to be per the dimensions on the site which is 1190mm, the 500 size is 1080mm. As soon as I get the build instructions I will be able to give more details.

www.smartmodel.hk.com is the Hong Kong source for these models from TFModels. The EC-145 is available in both 500 and 600 sizes. It's a masterpiece and allows interior detailing with this large fuselage.

www.rcaerodyne.com has a container due in from China shortly and because of his bulk buys will have these at a great price.

Hello Hover up-

I think I posted on your RC Forums info as well.

I am very interested in the EC 145, and even went down to meet with RCAerodyne and got to take a quick look at Prototype he had there.. (just in the grey primer in pieces stage)

I will ask you the same question I just asked Vigor, (I didn't get to really study all the pieces when I was there, and now have a question regarding the detail around the front windscreen.

Question-
How do you get the detail of the area (I outlined in red) on the attached photo of an actual EC 145? Is there a plastic piece included, or does this just have to be painted on by the modeler?

This will be my first scale model, and I am just trying to see what level of detail can be achieved- (which I realize is kind of a stupid statement, or at least would be based on my ability to build)

Thanks for your reply, and patience--- Hope you will be back in the saddle soon Hoverup!

I have both nitro and electric scale as well as 3D machines. The battery prices are really more reasonable than 3 yrs ago.

Have you mocked this up with the TRex 600 mechanics yet?

1190mm seems very short for a 50/600 size fuselage... The TT MD530 is 1245mm, and MD500s are generally on the short side. The TT Ecureuil, by comparison is 1387mm...

And the raised tail should actually add a couple of inches...??

My EC-145 came with this area painted to match the fuselage. It's an easy matter to add details like WSW (wipers)etc. By installing a backing plate for strength.

TFModels/Smartmodel has a 600 size EC-145, I'm uncertain as to the arrival in the USA on these, but they may be in one of the three containers soon to arrive at RCAerodyne.

Thanks Hoverup, thats what I figured.

I will be purchasing a white gel coat version of the 500 size from scaleflying as soon as they arrive, and will post photos and details.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's build on thier EC 145's-

Thanks again-

EC-145

Well, this is what I have done so far, I actually modified the mounting system for the Trex-500 to work with the 600 and used a raised platform, it really took some thought.
