I was flying my MJ2 with PS1 mount the other day and noticed something that looked like about the size of a 3mm locknut fell out of the back of it. It was about 200' away, so hard to judge exactly where it came from or how big it was. The tail seems to have a slight twitch in it that I didn't notice before. I've looked at every nut, bolt and can't spot anything. I don't know if the tail twitch is related, but I don't like it!!! Probably a long shot, but is there something similar anyone has experienced in the tail drive? Other than that, it flys like a dream. I'm hoping it was something I left sitting in the frame that wasn't flight critical.

If it was flight critical you would know it by now!
As you have already done, check everything again and again.

Yep, time to quadruple check it. You're right, I would probably know if it was critical by now. Whatever it was, at least my heli is a little lighter now

Often times I witness a similar event while flying AP in every bird I own.., I finally determined it was either a dragonfly or other insect that got "flushed away", bouncing off the frame and falling.., appearing like you described. No weight loss after the fact. LOL But worth checking as suggested.

The only time I've seen something fly off from the Maxi is the heat shrink wrap on the paddles... LOL ...trimmed the ends by accident... ooops

I've seen a sticker come off an Actro motor. They are very reflective and I thought it was something metal at first until I found it in the area where the heli was.

Yes, this happens often with the actro stickers when the motor becomes too warm (and also then the glue of the stickers). Gives for seconds a terrible noise like a siren.
I mean that was it.

Yes, mine too! Stickers on the Actro motors fell off during flight. Gerd I got that noise too before it flew away! Sounded like how we use to put hockey cards on our bike's spokes! LOL

Definitely plausible that adhesive of some kind fell.., which was my first guess.. since I'm not using Actro and don't use stickers on anything.. a "shiny" bug was my conclusion. LOL

This thread has certainly calmed my suspicions..

It IS an Actro, but the sticker is still on. For now...the sticker is starting to lift on the edge. I think I'll pull it off so I don't get that surprise in the future. Whatever it was, there's no way I'd find it over where I was flying. Thick brush and trees...and poison oak...don't go there I'm hoping for shiny dead bug.

Nope, never figured out what it was. Heli seems to fly fine, but in the back of my mind I keep thinking about what it could have been.
