Hi

I read this forum with great interest.

Can someone explain the basics to me of what's involved in getting/providing a 'downlink' for the video and heli control.
what sort of equipment used and the sort of cost.

And are the heli's completely automonous, so you just enter your waypoints and off it goes,

or can you fly it hand-on useing a video screen? If so, how do you control it, with some sort of modified Futaba transmitter, or some specialist joy stick controller?

Would love to know

(I've just ordered a DJI Autopilot, maybe one day I'll upgrade to full UAV?!)

thanks

I believe a "downlink" is reffered to most commonly as in video.
I'm not shure i understand your question but as far as video is concerned, it involves a video transmitter hooked up to a camera mounted on the heli and a video receiver hooked up to either a video display screen or video goggles on the ground.
The DJI wont disappoint you.

I found lots of uselful threads on the other forums;
from there found lots of video downlink kits that you can mail order from the US.
Not found many UK sellers yet, but I will keep looking!

If you look on other forums you will see that the CAA in the UK is soon to make FPV against the law

I'm sure I read somewhere,that as long as certain conditions are met, you can continue to FPV in the UK. May have been on rccam . com.
