I've received the EOS615i-DUO3 + PS (and waiting for the 620SE!) and carefully read the manual, but a few things don't seem clear to me (I've never had EP before, so all is new to me). I haven't plugged anything in yet:

If I have a second hand 6S and don't really know what it's condition is, what should I do ? Run a "BALANCE START" or a "STORE START", or something else.

Also, with a brand new LiPo, what do you do, just "CHARGE START SOLO MODE" ? Will this insure all is fine (charge and balance) ? Would this work also for the second hand one ?

PS : good job I read the manual, as the first thing I was planning on doing was strapping the PS and Charger together to have a "one block" charger (the manual says this isn't a good idea!)

I'm impressed that you've been able to make anything out of that manual w/o actually using the charger. It didn't make any sense to me.

Anyway, to answer your question, a store start is what you want to use when your not planning on using the batteries for a while (it charges/discharges the batts to a "store" or 60% capacity)

TO charge normally us the "solo" mode and just make sure you select the battery type, set the cell count, the mah of the pack and how many amps you want to charge it at (usually 1C) and you should be ready to rock.

Just hold the enter button to start the charge and press and hold it again to confirm the cell count and your on your way.

Just let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks a lot. It took me some time to make some sense out of it.

About the second hand LiPos, I don't know what condition they are in (charged, uncharged, balanced, ...). Can I just "SOLO CHARGE" and all will be fine and handled by the charger ? Or should I use "STORE MODE" first to prepare them for the charge?

In fact, for now I can't do anything with the charger as I haven't got the right connectors for the packs, and I don't know what the right ones will be as this depends on what will be on the 620SE's ESC which I hope to receive next week.

Any chance someone can tell me what the stock connectors are on the 620SE, that way I could already order the ones for the packs and charging cables?

The Century motors and ESC's come with appropriate bananna plugs that you must solder on yourself, for connection to each other,

The battery leads of the ESC are bare and you must purchase and use the connectors that you desire.

I have always used the large dean connectors here in the past. But because of how difficult they are to solder securely, I am now slowly converting my fleet to these:

They give as good if not better power transfer and are much easier to make a secure solder connection with.

Thanks, as I already have dean on 3 of the 4 LiPos, I've ordered those to put on the charger and ESC. Then I'll be able to test it all (no hurry, still don't have the heli, and then I plan a few weeks to catiously assemble it).

I see you are from France, if you ordered from outside of France, I wold be curious to see what it cost in shipping, customs charges & taxes etc. over and above the priice of the heli and electronics.

The heli comes (or has left at least) from heli world... but for now the usps tracking stuff says it's "in customs", so I suspect I'll be paying approc 20% of 1000$ (heli + gyro + servos + lipo + blades + ... basically all except radio and charger). Normally, I'd asked the shop to write like "Toys 330$" on the customs declaration, that way you only get to pay 20% of 300% instead (don't know how legal this is... but all ships will do it), bot it seems this time something went wrong, and I'll probably be paying the high price. Shipping of the combo was around 90$.

The charge and radio were from France. The charger had free shipping (don't know why) and the radio I picked it up at local store.

I'll see how it finishes and let you know.
