Hi.

The battery was fully charged 4.2 volts / cell.
I was going to use it when I was going to fly, but it got dark so fast so it was unused. It was a brand new pack, so never used before. Was going to be my first flight with it.

Havnt flown since. :-(
As I do not have a car, and live in the middle of the city I depend on public transport, but Im a bit afraid that this will happen again, and maybe in a train, where there are no windows that can be opened, nothing. I have a metal box now for the lipos, but as mentioned earlier, this will not help a lot, as the smoke is the problem.

Yep, I too am concerned about the smoke issue. Even though I use lipo safe storage bags I know that a pack going off in the bag has the potential to cause tremendous smoke damage indoors. I wonder if there is a good solution for this? I thought about keeping them in a portable fire proof safe but I doubt that will solve the smoke issue. I'm sure there is a way to do it, but the contraption may be so elaborate that it cannot be transported???

even not doing anything would have been better than nothing...

could get a hepa filter maybe, build a box with hepa filter as only air passage, put lipo-safe bag in the box.

I am flying international to Australia on Qantas.

On their website they say I can carry as may spare LiPos I want as hand luggage

"Spare Lithium ion batteries and cells with a Watt hour rating or less than 100Wh have no limit to the number that can be carried, batteries must have terminals insulated or protected to prevent short circuit and must be carried in cabin baggage only "

(I am carrying 3S 2200 Mah for my mini titan so Wh rating is only 2.2Ah x 11.1v = 24 Wh)

Only batteries between 100Wh and 160Wh have a 2 per person limit.
