My Posts This: Topic Forum | You can remove the spring or you can stretch the spring. Either one does absolutely nothing but cause you grief. Considering the nice machining and design of the rest of the engine, the carb is nothing but an abortion. I've sent both of mine back and had them modded, one works OK but just OK the other one is a total waste of my time. My flying partner has an original carb that works great but pisses fuel around the inlet nipple but does run great and he refuses to send it in to get it "fixed" until it absolutely won't work at all. I'm not bagging on the engine as a whole but the carb is nothing but a crap shoot. In its stock form, it simply isn't worth the time and effort, that's why I'm getting ready to mod the OS carb and machine an adapter. I have two engines that are essentially worthless to me so the carb is an easy fix. I'm sure Kim is right about this mod, the OS carb has to work better. When the HZ carb comes out it may work even better on this engine than it does on the HZ, it's hard to say.
If TT is really serious about keeping this engine on the market, they have to re-engineer the carb to a higher standard where there is no camming action with the barrel. In order to be reliable, the barrel only needs to rotate not cam in and out.
