2 YS50ST and never a problem with them. They tune different to OS which doesn't mean they aren't easier or harder to tune.

I'm getting a Hyper carb for my TT53 but wonders why everybody wants a plate.

Any problem with the original mounting system ?

Because the TT carburetor and the OS carburetor mounting is entirely different... With the TT motor, the carb has a "flange" and it's fastened in place with two bolts from the top. Hence, the adaptor plate.....

If you read this thread from the start, it will become clear to you....

Yes, just read back thru. You can do the plate which you have to cut the carb down or you can bore out the hole in the block as SCRAPTORMAN did and use set screws to hold it in. Both ways work great. Just pick the one that best suits you!

Fly it like you stole it!

TT RL53H engine "stack" carburator

Hi..
I have a problem on my RL53 (at only the forth flight of this engine...) that the throtle suddenly stack at nearly full , very hard to move by hand -not something the servo can handle .

Is it the same problem you sir encounter ?

Best regards:Barak Ohana -Israel (flying extreme 50..)

Yes,

That is one of the reasons why people are "modifying" their TT motors by installing an OS carburator.....

Thanks !
It is realy suprize me !
Have i known this problem -i wouldn't buy the engine...
Do you think posting TT on the issue will help >

And please one more question- do you think an os-60 sx (old engine..)
carburator is a valid replacement ?

Thanks for the help!

Regards:Barak.

Barak,

This problem has been known for quite some time and TT is fully aware of the problem..... they attempted to correct the "sticky carb" issue by re-designing the carburator and they replaced the problem carburators with the new style under warranty.

But there have been mixed results.....Unfortunately, folks report that the "newly redesigned" carburetor has the same problem......

I can't answer your question regarding your OS 60 carburetor.....

If I were you, I would seek a replacement carburetor under warranty and maybe that will cure the issue for you...

This is why I developed my mod to cure this problem , the motor is a good motor other than that . Some carbs work and some do not just like yours . No one seems to have answer but the OS carb will work and no sticking so far plus it tunes easy too . Look the tread over and see what ideas in doing the mod works for you .

I did, and that's why I asked:

Should I said original mod.

The only problem I see with the plate it will raise the carb and it may rub against my fan shroud (Vibe 50).

the plate will raise up the carb, and it's very very close to not working but you can use a heatgun to "form" the shroud and allow it to work.

hey guys i have read every single post on this thread and im getting on to making the swap in the morning. just a quick question i dont think has been asked yet (appologies if i missed it)but i have the newer model carb are these still problematic would it make a difference.
I have not had any sticking issues as yet as im aware of but i am getting bored of the tuning so im doing the mod just for that reason alone. cant wait.

some very neat work in the pictures thanks again guys,

New carb, old carb, no carb; it doesn't matter. If it is from TT in this case it is the wrong carb because the old one will piss fuel and the new one is simply a crap shoot as to whether or not you get one that actually works. I wish it were different as the engine is otherwise up to the task, the carb isn't.

the carb I'm using is a 60k off an old C spec 91 OS. It tunes easily as I'm used to the 3 needle OS carb. I find it easier to get a good tune than the 60L 2 needle hyper carb, but that just be my preference for the OS 3 needle carb
