Hey guys..
So every one raves about these little fellas.. so I went and got one, I can fly a duel blade heli in any direction land take off no prob..
now I have this quark...wooooh.. so I am used to the sensitivity and can hover no prob and move a little forwar back l and r..
however, if I pirouette it just flys off into the wall, i find it impossible to fly nose towards me...
please give me some advise??? also the power to rise is not great either, I only fly indoors (and read all the other stuff about antenna hanging ect..) I just find i am between 3/4 and full just to keep it in the air.... and... ugh., also
since laminating the blades it does not sound to healthy either...
PLEASE HELP AS I AM A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED TO SAY THE LEAST

THANK
YOU

PETE

Welcome to the world of fixed pitch helis. The Quark isn't a co-axial and it won't fly like one either. I suggest you read the manual that comes with the machine and make the appropriate adjustments.

Don't give up Pete! The Quark is one of the coolest heli's out there. It is stable in a hover as you have found, but really moves out when you lean on that cyclic stick! It does take some getting used to but I think you'll end up enjoying it!

First of all adjust the heli to hover at mid stick. This is achieved by adjusting the pitch angle on the blades and the throttle curve on the control unit. This will allow to have power to spare. Once this is done trim the heli in the manner described in the manual. This means use the dials on the control unit and not the trims on the radio. Once properly trimmed the piros should be more consistant and it should stay in place. As far as cyclic response you could move the ball link positions but I would try to leave it as is. Finally if you find the heli too responsive don`t laminate the blade at the beginning as a stiffer blade will make the machine even more sensitive.

Good luck

The adjustments suggested should help you a great deal. Remember if you can hover tail in you should be able to hover nose in or in any orientation for that matter.

You may know the quark is the next step in the world of helicopters. It is very forgiving and you will have a blast.

It takes time a practice. My advice for you is try and get a few flights in a gym or a garage so that you don’t go through blades and crash into walls and lamps in your house. When you get better you will be able to fly in your house in and out of doorways and between chairs inside your living room. If you can fly a coaxial you can handle a quark. It is a bit different and it just takes practice.
