Any advise?

Wanted to get one that last. Most failed after a while.

Roger's Crash Counter: 09 last dated 1 Sept 2009. Why I can't do 3D?

Slimline Boxer pumps are the best in my opinion. They last a very long time and when the do fail they have a maintenance kit to repair them for years of additional service.

+1 on the boxxer. I love it!

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

What is best fuel pump to buy

The slimline i had it for years works great all the time. No fuel touches internal parts so it last longer>.

The slimline will work for years and you can get the rebuild kit for it. People complain its a little slow but I don't see what their hurry is.

Mine slowed down a lot after a couple of years using 30%, so I put in the rebuild kit - works great again!

I vote for the slimline also, mine is going on about 8 years now, the main hose that goes threw it is starting to get soft now and collapsing, going to order a rebuild kit for it this week, and hopefully get another 8 years.

I power the boxer pump from slimline and my power panel off the Makita 18V pack I use for the Dynatron starter and that sped up the pump quite a bit.

Slimline are the best because the fuel stays in the fuel hose the entire time. The other pumps break and/or leak because the fuel is pumped through the internal pump itself.

I have this one and love it, on bottle and very easy/fast to use. The only downside, the Rotor Rage threads on their bottles are different and don't work with Slimline.

FYI, the Slimline Boxer is the same pump, just not bottle mounted.

PC12DRVR - I've heard that overpowering the pump will lead to shorter life. How long have you been running it at 18V?

I've been running my SL2000 at 15v, 10 AA alkaline batteries for years. I've recently switched to 10 NiMh Sanyo Eneloops so I'm at ~12v now.

I'm using 10 AA batteries because that's what fits in the Slimline battery base which I've been using for years.

I wouldn't go over 15v, but hey, that's me.

I have been using 18V all summer, no problem yet, and it is a three year old pump, just a matter of lightening up the field box a little, got rid of the 12V lead acid. I'll let you know when or if it is smoked.

I use the Slimline procap on the Byron containers. At first I didn't think it would fit but it seems that if you screw it on a half turn or so and then push down on the high side it should click over the threads. Then just screw it the rest of the way on. So far it seems to work and doesn't leak.

he Rotor Rage threads on their bottles are different and don't work with Slimline.

The Slimline caps do work on the Byron's jugs, been using them since March with no issues.

Also, you might want to check out the Rotor Rage Tanker and E-Tanker as an alternative to typical fuel jugs.

I was thinking of doing the same thing but since I use a Power panel to drive my glow plug, I was wondering if I would have enough ajustment to keep the voltage at a safe level for the plug ?
