Yep and it's killer. Got mine installed at IRCHA and got 22 flights so far. Works as good as the original but has a ton of extra options including a push button!

I have the old and new version. I like that the new one has an ignition wire that can be replaced if it gets damaged. You can also switch between the glow plug wire clip or alligator style clip as desired. Best part is the new one is the same price as the old version.

Really?

Anyone is going to be hard pressed to even notice 18 grams on a helicopter.

I wont use anything else . I saw Mike use his about 3 or 4 years ago and got one never looked back and all my flying buddies have them . I used a glo stick thingy on a plank last week and forgot it and then saw it fall off in flight .It is well worth having I think glo plugs last longer and when one is bad Switchglo tells you .

I dont know how to fly just how to not crash !!!!!

Its well worth having for you,not everyone so thats should be a IMO statement and Like you said, you "think" the plug last longer.I never had a plug go bad,as a matter of fact I never burned one up yet and have a good 30 gallons through my motor.Useing a glow stick/switch glow has nothing at all with burning plugs up,tunning does .
+1 on what Ace Dude said

as often as I have left my glow driver on the heli during flight or forgetting to charge it, this switchglo has been a godsend. Just one more thing i don't have to worry about before I head out to go fly.
As a bonus - the radio mix won't let me have a hot start

fran,
Yeah im not going to lie,I cooked one along with my motor (piston and ring) about 5 months ago.The plug on the bottom of my pipe came off .I put a new piston, ring, glow plug and bearring in and never had a problem out of anything on my motor sence that day.I make sure to check my motor temp and pipe every other flight, check my carb, head, and back plate bolts as soon as I get home.30 gallons now and everything is like brand new.Im very anal when it comes to my heli after that cause this is my pride and joy and I take very well care of it .Heres the video when the motor crapped out.Anyways, sorry for babblings guys, just wanted to talk I guess lol.

I did blown a nipple off of an OS SFN (black head) with MA header and horse shoe pipe

Fortunately, I was doing some class I manuvers and caught it quick enough. Sounded like a .22 cal cartrige going off!

If you like convienece and not having to worry about where you put your glow igniter than the SwitchGlo is for you. Or maybe you don't want to forget your igniter anymore.

As for taking up room, it barely takes up any room and fits perfectly into a big open spot on the front of my 700. I actually have enough room left to add another battery and RX if I needed to...room is not an issue.

If your not changingglow plugs in 30 gallons then I applaud you but I would also challange that since I find it extremely hard to believe.
