Welcome everyone to the newly announced mSR Club. I know for sure there is one lucky guy out there that actually owns one already, but for the rest of us... we should be getting our pre-ordered machines in the next 2-4 weeks. I was at IRCHA and spoke with Mark about the mSR, it's release dates, and get a close-up look at its capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses. As a previous owner of the mCX, I can say... this little thing is like comparing a firebird to a '68 VW Bug. It has so much more maneuverability and speed, along with its hinged blades for impact damage prevention.

For those interested, you can purchase extra batteries thru helidirect, outrage, and flightmax for sure. They might be slightly different mah's, but will all still fit in the battery cradle on the mSR. I hope everyone has a great time with it, and can post up any problems / fixes once it is released. By the look of my order on horizonhobby.com, it seems that there are three batches that have been setup for release at different times. The earliest being the beginning of september 09', the 2nd being the end of September, and the 3rd being the first 2 weeks in October. I say... buy them now, while you can still order them pretty easily.

Hopefully, our patience in waiting won't be in vein. Horizon Hobby... don't fail us now!

I had an MCX for goofing around the house and found it boring after a week or two. All it wanted to do was hover. This looks like it will be the ticket though. I am the first on the list at my LHS.

I like my mCX for flying around the house at night. To me, it is like a slow simulator that actually flies. But, it needs totally dead air outside in the evenings. Looking forward to the mSR to play with. On the list at my lhs. Andy

monday or tuesday! that seems a bit early. I bought mine from HH and all it said was early september. I'd be shocked if you get it on monday. A little disappointed too.

Shipped !

I just received an e-mail to confirm the shipping of my mSR. Horizon is sending mine out TODAY!!! woot! can't wait to get it! my wife is going to hate me. She thought it was bad when I would hover over her head with my mcx while she cooked dinner. lol. Now, i'll be fast enough to run away from her swatting at it. lol.

Yes, it comes with 2 batteries. I believe they're the new E-Flite 150mah batteries, but not positive. I buy mine at hobbycity.com (Flightmax brand). I used them on my mcx, and they were good. They're only 138mah as opposed to the 150mah for the E-Flites, but e-flite is like $13/each where flightmax is only $1.79/each if you sign up on their site. Best deal is to buy 9 at a time. You can get 9 sent to the U.S. for less than $20. Once you go to 10 or more, you go to another set of shipping and it's an extra like $6-7. They're always on backorder though, so I'd suggest buying them now. Usually takes like 3 weeks to get them from China or what not.

EDIT: I just found out that the mSR RTF setup comes with 2 120mah batteries. The 150mah are extra if you want to buy them. So essentially , the 138mah batteries will still have more juice.

I got an email from Horizon yesterday to verify I still wanted it. Of course I replied yes. From what I gather, it's either on the way or ships Monday.

Try not. Do or do not. There is no try
