Houston Sportflyers will be hosting its 1st annual HSF Chopparazzi Festival Saturday October 10, 2009. This is an AMA sanctioned event. Our field will be closed and restricted for HELICOPTERS ONLY. All types of helis: electric, nitro, gas, and turbines are welcome to fly with us. We encourage novices to fly, and have an area designated for beginners. The main flight line, foamy field, control line circle, as well as the club-designated heli area will be available for open flying. The 48’X360’ plank flyer runway will also serve as a drag strip for racing and is marked for auto-rotating contests as well. Plaques awarded 1ST through third place. Please help us kick off this fun filled and what we hope to be annual event. For event flyer, go to www.houstonsportflyers.com

Pilot Lunch Provided
Landing Fee: None
Pilots meeting at 08:30 then open flying until dark.
AMA required and must be presented at registration table

Let me restate what Todd has Posted:

Landing Fee: FREE!!
Pilot Lunch: FREE!!

Houston Sport Flyers is the most Heli friendly field this side of Sulphur and the great folks here have agreed to keep those nasty plank thingys out of the skies for a day and leave the field to "all crap that spins and thrashes."

This is going to be a great event complete with Auto contest and Drag Races. There should be alot of help for new guys and separate flight lines for hovering and beginners.

We have nearly 2600 sq feet of covered table area with power drops for charging. Larry's Hobbies is less than 5 mins away for fuel and parts.

It will be a fun time and we hope to see all our Austin/Katy/Dallas/Sulphur friends make it here so get this on your calendars and be ready to make a day of it!

See ya there!

Darn the scheduling

be out of town AGAIN on Sept 23rd. This in and out gets to be BAD when the good times are happening whilst out of town. You guys have a BLAST and take some photo's to share with those of us less fortunate. I KNOW those guys will do a big time job entertaining ALL pilots of ALL skills.

Mark we could put James with the new guys and the separate area for hovering, cause I'm certain he doesn't remember how to fly anything but a full scale fixed wing plank.
O'Ya forgot he might not how to fly one of those anymore either.

Hey AGRAV8, when your in town you can always come fly with us or at least come tell us some Lies.

I'll probably miss this one too, but just wanted to let everyone know that if you CAN make it then do what it takes to go. You won't find a better bunch of folks to spend the day with... Unless you're friends with Hugh Hefner or something like that....
Seriously though, it will be a blast. Sorry to miss it...

It doesn't get dark enough where the field is located to have good night flying. Its a shame to because it would be a good place to night fly. As you can see from the aerial photo, we have tons of room, but there are some apartments on one side and houses on the North end that put out too much light, plus the light from the city.

Yes. Yes. For those pondering, both Kilts and Togas will also be considered appropriate pilot attire/dress for the event should any pilot want to indulge. But because we are a family friendly field, I must insist that undergarments be worn at all times (for the male pilots)

You think you can make that long drive from College Station to see your old buds or did you move in with that sweet young thing in The Woodlands?
