I used to use an ammo can but any more I just keep my charger and power supply on a metal cookie pan, and charge on that. The worst it can do is stink up my house, nothing flammable is near it. I may start using my wood stove, but can't do it this time of year, the wood stove is kind of being used. Heck I tried to experience a lipo fire by "retiring" an old pack, but shorting it and puncturing it did nothing at all. I was very disappointed.

I think it would be good to tell us what charger it is because there may be others (myself included) that have the same charger and it would be good to know so we can make sure ours are ok. People are not asking so that they can slam the manfactuer but to check theirs out. I sure know I would like to know to be preventive rather than have an issue later and find out that it was the same unit you used and it could have been avoided.

What really concerns me is that you were only charging at 1C AND using a balancer.

I hope you rethink and let us know what model it was
