My Posts This: Topic Forum | I leave the optimizer on the cyclic on all the time because it takes about 3 flights to choose a setting. By contrast, I leave the tail optimizer off because it changes the setting in about 30 seconds. The way I have found to do the tail optimizer is to fly as many pitch pumps and piros as you can for about 2 minutes, land immediately and unplug your heli, and then go in the computer and turn off the tail optimizer. Otherwise, you'll be doing some hovering for 30 seconds and then try to do a flip or something and the tail will blow out because the optimizer has optimized itself only for hovering.
As for the trim flight, wait until you have a day with zero wind. Otherwise it will be worse than it already is. The way you can tell the trim is off is when you do a piro and the heli doesn't stay in one place.
