Impossible to answer without the info asked by Pistol Pete and the brand, voltage and mah ratings of the cells used.

this is the RTF version , but im using my dx7 .. im using the soft start governor mode on the ESC witch is not even warm after flight ... 10 tooth pinion .. main gear mesh is perfect . tail also set right ...14.8 4 cell 3000 mah 20c lipo NEW ..... ive been running my throttle curve at 75-85-100-100 .... only problem i am having is the battery puffing up , motor is warm to mild hot , after i lowered my pitch settings a little . also i noticed the motor pulsing on first spool up then smoothing out after a minuet of flight ,,,strange setup problem ..unlike my 450's

Battery brand is..... 4S3000 is a fairly small battery. That should probably only be good for fast forward flight and an occasional loop and not really very long flight times. I had that motor and it isn't up to the task for more than light flying(IMHO)
Now that you're hooked on helis and immediate upgrade should happen. get the 600A+ motor, an Electron 80/100 amps ESC and get a 5S pack and a 9T pinion. This will get you more power and the ability to upgrade to a 6S pack later while keeping the headspeed down.
Let me suggest www.hobbycity.com and their excellent Zippy Rhino packs.
a 5S4900 should get you some decent flight times at a moderate headspeed(9T). When you're ready go to a 10T pinion for more spirited performance.

Should've bought a sim. Got a bucket of used blades!

No. The motor and ESC that you have will do just fine if you use a good battery. I have used that motor and esc for 100's of sport 3D flights - but I used a good battery packs eg. the Flite Power 4S/3700/25C battery & Electrifly 4S/5000/20C.

As aramsdell mentioned, your pack is the minimum for any type of flight with the heli. With a 100 throttle curve, you will be turning a relatively high rotor speed (rotor speed is the main consumer of power). So if you get a 3 minute flight, then you are doing good with that pack.

If you drop to a 80% curve you will get longfer flights and it will be a lot easier on the battery.

But the real solution is to get a better battery pack. One of at least 3700 mah (preferably more (e.g. 4200+) and 25C. Then you will see a big improvement.

That is a set-up issue in your TX. The software in some TX's allow different trims in each flight mode. I suspect the trims or sub-trims in your Normal settings are different from those in your idle up settings.
