My Posts This: Topic Forum | After getting into a crash with my Beam, I was looking for parts to replace. I had asked on here as to possible places to order from. One of the suggested shops was ********* *****. I thought I'd give it a shot. After ordering from them, via telephone, I was told that because of my location, I would have to fork out a pretty good chunk of change just to ship "small" parts to me (and I mean small....ie. bolts, bearings, tail boom, spindle...that sort of thing). They quoted $29.00 for shipping! Holy S***!! Since I needed the parts, I reluctantly completed the order.
I decided to send the parts to my sister in Washington state, which cost a meer $4.00 to send there. She in turn, sent it out to me via USPS Priority Mail for $7.00, insured and all. In total, $11.00 for shipping. A bit more reasonable.
What gives with some of these businesses? I am not on Mars (although "they" think so). I am not mentioning the shop's name because I know it does have good reputation with others but just the thought of getting taken for shipping is ridiculous.
I found another on-line business that services the Beam products and also ordered from there. This business (I will mention their name), Ready Heli, was very accomodating and had no problems sending to me here on Guam. (I guess they knew I was on the same planet )
Just needed to vent. Thanks . Now I'm off my soap box.
