My Posts This: Topic Forum | I agree , able to have good control is must.
I'll say
To begin , 2 months is all you need on the sim with 2 hrs a day. ( fly all orientations (nose in , tail in , side ways ), hold it their , simulate winds , heavy winds and still hold.Fly lots of figure 8. Then make those figure 8 very slow, art of good flying is able to control the speed. Very slow 8 will reveal loop holes in your orientation , fix them then )
then go on your trex 600 , fly a lot for 3 months. ( practice sim along ). 2-3 crashes is all you need to get the hang of building and rebuilding and understanding.
by the 5th month you will be a confident and a safe pilot.
If you are very new and without expert help around, I will also recommend ray's hostlers heli dvd series, they were a great boon and greatly accelerated my understanding and learning.
all the best
