One big advantage of the Raptor is the three swash servos don't have to match. Otherwise, get which ever one floats your boat.

You posted this question on the RAPTOR Forum?
What kink of answers would you expect??
Okay I'll bite...
Simply put...

15 degrees positive/15 degrees negative collective pitch

How hard do you want to 3D it?
If your serious and want it to twitch, GO with the JR HV8717's, give them volt's and they will NOT let you down.

If not buy a vacuum, Oh I mean an Align

The design is good so you won’t be disappointed in that. I have both and the both fly well but the Raptor is more reliable.

The big problem with Align helicopters is the quality of parts and materials. They just use cheap plastics and metals so you will be disappointed in that, I know that I was. For the price they charge you would think that they would be able to do better.

I put it in two forums

Because i thought the tt forum might be filled with raptor fans and get a unfair result.
I want to run a standard 4.8 v pack or may go for a lipo and reg . Any info helpful? I will be using a 401 gyro witha s9254 so I think the voltage needs to stay 4.8v

I no longer fly a Raptor, I sold it when I started flying a gasser heli. But I do fly a T-Rex 450, and close friends had the 600N.

...Get the Rappy. Its design is not new by any means, should be outperformed by the new birds, but Raptors go on winning championships.

And, as for quality... Yep, get the Rappy.

i have flown all the big players and they are all good flyers just get what you like.the 600n is a great 3d heli.i had every raptor ,v2, se ,titan and have flown the new se which feels much the same really the 15 degrees pitch if your jamming the cyclics over in hard 3d with a os 50 on 20 percent coolpower and gov cant handle anything much over 11 degrees pitch for most people.a plus is the mech mixing cuts interaction out and the swash is supported at four points instead of three you can get away with cheaper servos but you need fast ones. i dont like the tiny rx tray its ok for using a nicad nimh pack and stack your radio up on top but with lipos and reg its tight.as for the look for me the rappy is a bit old fashioned looking really but that aside the combo price and the way it flys is very tempting.

The 600NSP is a good helicopter for 3D but you will spend a lot of time and money because of the mechanical failures.
If I were you I will go with the Raptor SE

I have now been offered a heli i flight tested and has only flown once after that

My mate has a 600 pro with align 50 h and the lipo and glow start. He also has spectrum ds821 on it and a 401 gyro with a 9254 sevo. The model has only had one days flying and is near as dam it new ....How much should i offer.... and what should i do servo wise? ....What brake downs on the t-rex should i expect and what mods should i do.

First off, both are good heli and equally capable for 3D. But here are some of the pros and cons you need to konw.

- Trex600 uses CCPM, which mean given the same servo, collective respond is going to be faster. But, then you almost always have to deal with CCPM interaction. Raptor's mechnical mixing is slower, but never have to deal with CCPM interaction
- Raptor has alot more bell cranks then Trex, This is not uniquie to raptor, but rather any none-CCPM heli. This mean you will have to constantly make sure those bell crank is slop free. Trex does not have this problem.
- Raptor is about $200 cheaper then Trex600.
- This one you may not care, but Trex is far easier to clean at the end of the day then Raptor. This is because all the CF structrue are pretty much flat. Raptor is made of most plastic with many support rib builtin. This makes harder to get all the grease out when it comes to cleaning time.

By the way, in case if I didn't mention, I own both Raptor50 nitro, Trex700 nitro and Trex600 electric. So my opinion is not bias.

Im not biased either, 7 raptor 50s and 5 600n's.
If i had to go back and buy another 50.
It wouldnt be a 600N.
TT is far from perfect, but the wear rate on the align's ruined the very reason i got in this hobby.

I own a T-Rex 600 Nitro Pro that I have put 100 flights on since I bought it. Very nice bird.
I just bought a Raptor 50 Titan SE from IRCHA. Just finished the build this afternoon. I owned Raptors a long time ago and I must say, this new bird is sweet. Haven't flown it yet but it went together perfectly. Not one single issue, no stripped screws...nothing. I can't wait to burn up the sky with it.

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!
