I don't know for sure. I built all my links according to the book. The height of the swash isn't really as critical on this model, since there are no A-Arms to match with.

Glad to hear you are getting close.

Long delay in pictures but I have been working on it and have finished the wiring. Not a clean as I would have liked but not alot of places to hide wires in this airframe, but overall I am happy with the finished product. I shortened the three jumpers for the RX to Reg and the five jumpers for the RX to Gyro/Gov. I am using a Tunder Power Li-po 3850 30C battery, way overkill but I always go over on the battery power and capacity. I added a switch on this model as I do not want to take the canopy on and off after every flight to disconnect the Deans plug.

Thought I was going to have the Helicopter finished this weekend and test flown on Sunday but it is a no go for now. This is the first time this has happened to me. The new BLS 251 I got does not work at all. Will not power up, move, nothing. I plugged in another servo just to check my wiring and it works great, no problems with any of the wiring. I am going to have to contact Servo City and see if they will exchange it but will not be able to do anything until Monday. If they will not exchange it I will have to send it to Futaba and get them to look at it. I am pretty bummed, I was cranking on it and it sucks when you have to stop for equipment problems.

Initial impression on the Helo Control unit is excellent. The instructions are well written and navigating through the menus in intuitive. The programming LCD is very nice and with the combination joystick on the main unit, makes programming a user friendly endeavor I am very impressed with the unit so far and I will post more as I start to put in the programming for this model.

I will update you guys once I get this tail servo worked out. Take care.

Jason

What "other" servo did you use to test the electronics?

You do know that the BLS251 requires a 760us Pulse center, yes? Is the Helo Controls unit capable of that output?

The electronics install and placements look very nice.

Well......, I did not know that the BLS 251 was super narrow 760us. The helo control unit is capable of sending that signal. I reprogrammed the gyro/gov output to super narrow and the servo works. I hope I did not do any damage to the servo with the normal input. The servo appears to be working fine, the servo does get a little warm though and does feel a little notchy in my fingers, appears to move smooth by sight, but does feel electronic notchy if that is a good term to use. The gears are super smooth with no power on the servo. Just to confirm that this sounds correct? I feel like a big goof, I should have known that the servo was 760us. I shall hang my head in shame. Thanks Erich for pointing that out.

I will get back to work on it and I might be ready to fly by tomorrow, but I already took half the day off to fly my 42% airplane and hang out at the field, so might half to make next weekend the madien weekend. All other parts are here and I am ready to go. Take it easy.

Your servo is fine. Out of range pulse widths don't harm a servo, they just see it as out of range and don't do anything...just as if the receiver wasn't getting a signal. The only time a servo can be harmed by signal is if you had it go hard over against the mechnical stop and bind.

Glad you got it all sorted...

Well.....Things are not looking good with my previous reason for putting the helicopter up for sale. With my big airplane not selling, I need to have some availble cash ready just in case things get expensive.

I am listing my helicopter back up for sale complete RTF and everything included that I have installed during the build.

I have enjoyed building this helicopter and I feel like I am letting you guys down by not finishing and selling, but family comes first. I hope you guys understand. A big thanks to Erich for all the inputs and help along the way. I truely appreciate it!

I will build another in the future, that's for sure. Right now I would rather have some extra cash available. Talk to you guys soon.

Well, sorry to hear it, Jason. I think you'll find the market base for this helicopter even smaller than that for your airplane, though. Folks are only going to low-ball the snot out of you over this, because they don't understand the machine involved. People just aren't buying high end stuff these days, unless it's some servo that Bert Kammerer, et al, are using.

Best of luck to you and family.

Jason,

Keep in mind that almost without exception, parting out equipment will give you far better results that trying a package sale. I've several times purchased premium models like yours, but I've never done it any way but with an empty airframe. Offer the package, but be willing to split. I wish you the best to come back flying soon.

Thanks for the inputs and wishes. I appreciate it. I will give it a little time and then offer a split. I have two potential buyers interested in the RTF package but no agreement or money has changed hands yet. Thanks again and take care.

The job you did on the wiring is amazing. The quality of the kit is so high, and your workmanship so high I had to order a new set of canopy decals. I didn't get them applied well enough to match the rest of the heli.

You must be the new owner Congrats...

Little tip on decals, was your hands really well, wash the canopy in warm soapy water rinse off well and dry with hair dryer, then spray with Windex Glass Cleaner, this will allow you to slide the decals around until you get them positioned properly, then gently push the water and air bubbles out and smooth them off for a nice finish, works a treat and looks amazing, let them dry for 24 hours and your ready to go..........

If you get really keen you can clear coat them, I did on my Aurora canopy three coats of 2 pack and looks good IMHO
