e-BEAM Beam E4 > Aft cyclic causes left roll

I have two Beam E4's. Only one has this problem.

Back flip to inverted flight - the heli rolls left causing the nose to be pointing left when I stop the flip at inverted position.
Tail slide - When pulling back on elevator to fly straight up the heli rolls left and I have to correct at the top of the stall. When pushing forward on the cyclic and elevator at the bottom of the slide, the heli is level and does not roll left or right.

Head servos - JR DS285MG's
Radio - DX7
Servo control arms are at 90 degrees center stick
Used Trueblood swash level tool to verify level swash through full collective range.
It does not appear that any of the servos are slower/faster than the others.
I am not hitting the mechanical limit of any servo. And no binding.
Used Flybar lock to set pitch to 12+/0/12-.
Head is in balance and tracking well.
I can induce a little right roll while pulling back on the elevator and the nose is fine once inverted.

Any thoughts?

It's possible you are adding a little aileron when you are pulling on the elevator causing it to roll.

It's easy to give multiple inputs when you are learning these manuvers.
Another thing to try if you want, it to increase your Tx stick tension slightly.

Hi Jay!
Good to hear from you again.
I will try increasing the tension but it is strange that only one of the two Beams do this. I am sure that every heli has its own unique personality.
I will play around with it some more.
Thanks Jay

It's been a while so I forget, but does the Beam have a phase adjustment?

No it doesnt have phase adjustment. Could be unintentional stick movement or something is bent / not travelling fast enough (servo).

hi Mongenix

the backflip part could be gyro not holding and tail blowing out a touch. Had this often on my MT ages ago with cheap gyro

The tail slide i have no idea... might be tail sliding as well... i need to go play with heli to "see" your explination

Thanks for the input.
I will play with it some more this evening.
I do not completly understand swash mix. I was wondering if the Aile in the swash mix could be wrong.
I do not have my heli with me but I believe the settings are as follows:
Aile = -60
Elev = +60
Pitch = +60
I changed the balls from the middle hole to the outer hole on the servo arms. Although the heli has a lot quicker response (which I like) it has about the same about of left roll with a lot of aft cyclic.
Going to be great flying weather here in the Ohio Valley this weekend after days and days of rain!

Setup sounds fine. you might try enable the exp option (not exponential) on the swash menu, this sometimes help remove interaction. just recheck the pitch, you normally have to up it about 8-10 % on the swash pitch menu.

if you have heli on table (disconnect motor) does the swash tilled backwards when you give aleron? maybe there weird mix someone setup.

Check the phasing statically. I had a washout base that was drilled wrong from the manufacturer causing the phasing to be WAY off. I was able to fix it by installing the washout base upside down. I can't take credit for the fix as a friend in the club pointed it out, but it worked!

The problem was not the heli but the mechanic that repaired it (ME!).
I was not going to post this (too embarrassed) but there were so many posts with help, I feel I should at least post what I did.
It seemed that the heli flew fine except for heavy aft cyclic changes.
Anyway, while working on the bench with the radio and the tail, I had a duhhhh moment when I saw the tail rotor blades on backward!.
I thought, "It took me a week to find this! Boy am I a @$%&%*&^$@%#!!!!"
It now flips, loops, rolls and hovers inverted just fine now.
My head hangs a little lower now and thanks for all the help.
