Absolutely no upgrades needed..and it flies very smooth out of the box.
The only thing i can complain about is the stock dampers wear out too easily. They wear out even by leaving it on the ground for a month or soBut there's aftermarket dampers available so ya dont have to worry about it.
My experience with the Beam has been nothing less than awesome! IMO it has more room to work with than most 450 helis I've seen. It is an absolute dream to fly. Very stable and since I've been flying it, a real fun heli to fly.
I bought one, Love it! My son bought one. He loves it. I bought a second one as a backup since I am pushing it with my flying skills and I crash a lot. I have had countless crashes and several were very hard ones. The heli rebuilds easily and other than feathering and main shafts, holds up great. The only crash that broke the carbon fiber parts was a fast decent into asphalt (on its side). That one hurt. Just get one - you will love it. Easy to fix, great to fly.
i was looking at the trex to but i have had no resposes and 33 veiws over there, looks like if i needed help on something with a new electric i could get it with the beam. thanks alot guys, who has the best price on them?
i dont need no stinking trainger gear, if i crash ima tear it up good
The Beam in my opinion is the best 450 you can get. The quality is incredible, its a very precise machine. They dont need upgraded parts or fixes like some others. Its perfect out of the box. I have had almost them all and the beam is the best in my opinion, my confidence is much hight on the beam then the others. I have 2 and ones for sale.
helibro, if you go with the beam you will not be disappointed. There are no upgrade parts needed. It comes with all the upgrade parts you would have to buy for the other helis out there. The t-rex is a great heli, but everyone has one. The fun flies I have been to, I had the only beam in attendance, and the t-rex guys that have flown mine have had nothing bad to say.
I don't know were to start it s great in all ways flying it the best i live in Puerto Rico and the flying field is very windy (15 to 20)gust you can see it in some of the videos in YT search (r0074)and there's some videos of the beam there to.
On the crash part it very hard frame and the parts are to you know main shaft, federing shaft, tail shaft etc... you know is the commend parts to go in a crash.
One time i was learning to do stall turns and i was coming from a two o'clock down to a five all most 6 and i dint pull up instead i did pitch more and it went harder to the ground the heli crash and slide on the ground about 100 feet to a stop couple of scratches, blades back to shafts landing skids that it.the damage was not that bad i thought that it was dead.On the video you see the light post all moust that high was the beam coming down from the stall turn.
