You really dont need to do anything.

The default is idleup using a gov.

Just make sure your TX is setup for Idleup and your finished.

As Gyronut says, the governor is on all the time so that part of idle up doesn't matter.

However, if you want to setup different pitch and idle curves for each of your idle positions on the TX you can and they will work - you don't have to do anything on the Phoenix side.

The gyro is the only weak link - cannot enable\disable it through the idle settings, nor can you change the headspeed using idle.

Cheers,

Nigel

If you have the governor on - and this is true by default for many of the models, your throttle curves are ignorred so it doesn't matter what shape they are.

As I'd said previously, the governor is on all the time and a weak (but minor) issue with Phoenix in my opinion.

If possible in future releases I would like to be able

(i) Disable\Enable the governor in the Idle Switch positions
(ii) Set the headspeed in the Idle Switch positions
(iii) Model true Governor operation - that it doesn't engage until a certain throttle\headspeed is reached.

Only minor but that is how my GV-1 works in real life.

Cheers,

Nigel

for me I just set flat line 100% throttle for idle 1 and 2.
That way it knows not to go to zero throttle at bottom stick, even in gov mode, you still need something there on the sim for it to work properly.

For the love of the hobby

i have the throttle curve at 100%...but it takes off like a rocket...i don't have any negative pitch ? i have the pitch curves linear....so i should have -12

i know it is something so simple...but i can't find it

You haven't got your collective backwards have you?

i.e
zero stick = max pitch
full stick = min pitch

Look at System > Your Transmitter and check how the collective moves (Channel 3 on my gear) when you move the throttle stick.

Should be zero at min throttle and max at max throttle. If yours is going the other way you need to reverve the channel on Phoenix.

Nigel

anyone can give me the specifics on how to map the keyboard "Throttle Hold" (numeral 1) and the Normal/Idle1/Idle2" (numeral 3) "to the TH switch and the Flight Mode Switch on a JR XP7202 Transmitter?

I would imagine it is posted somewhere on RR but I haven't had the time to search for it.

Your help would be appreciated.....

On the DX 7 radio.....I am going to do it step by step so it may appear almost too simple...but just bear with me......

1. Plug the wire into the back of the receiver - the trainer socket.
2. DO NOT turn the Transmitter on - the screen will light up.
3. Hold down Scroll and Select button at the same time...you will probably get the D/R & EXP screen ... but.......
4. Use the scroll key (left button) to scroll through the various menu items/options.
5. When you get to [THRO HOLD] it should say INH....press the increase button - the button on the right side of the Tx. It should say HOLD POS> -5% SW:RUDD D/R leave that as it is.....
6. Press the Scroll Up Button and move to the THRO CURVE MENU...
7. Set your throttle curve for NORM/ST1/ST2 ....
For NORM I have 0 = 0, 2 = 75 and 5= 100
For ST1 I have 0 = 100, 2 = 75, 5 = 100
For ST2 I have 0, 1,2,3,4,5 = 100,
8. Hold down the Scroll and Select Button at the same time to return back to the main screen.....
9. Start Phoenix and go fly - Use the Flt Mode Switch for NORM, ST1 and ST2 and the Hold switch for Throttle hold as you would do for flying the real heli....
10. Have fun flying inverted....
Let me know how it turns out....

GregRC...man i do appreciate the effort bro !!!

i pretty much have the same setup you just offered...
i use the same set up i use for my Trex 450...and i can hover it inverted.

but when i use these settings on the sim, when i flip the heli and give it negative cyclic..."i loose power" and the heli just drops like a rock ?

it flies perfect in the normal mode...but when i go to ST1 it's like i have no negative pitch ? i've recalibrated numerous times..same thing

nothing to it but to do it

Check your throttle Curve in ST1...it should be V shape....I suspect that is why your're having the problem.....

Mine works GREAT.....
