Okay guys, more help needed. Brand-new Beam E4, ds760 gyro, JR3500G tail servo. Spektrum DX-7 transmitter. Mechanical tail pitch is set to about 8° right rudder. Ball link is in the innermost servo-arm hole. Travel limits are set, no binding. No matter what amount of gain I set, from +100 to -100, the tail wags so violently that I can't fly. There is a small amount of vibration in the heli that I'm trying to track down, but nothing that would cause such violence. I'm a beginner, so there's probably something I'm overlooking. Any clue?

John,

That vibration will cause more trouble than you might think. I had a bad mainshaft bearing that drove me absolutely nuts! Caused all kinds of tail "wiggle" problems that I just couldn't adjust out on the gyro or TX. Once I found and replaced the bearing ALL problems disappeared! You need to "feel" the mainshaft and tailshaft by hand. Put a side load on them and if you feel any roughness then replace them. I went through 3 mainshaft bearings before I found a good one. It seems like the market has been flooded with junk bearings. I went through the same exact thing with my T-Rex but I had to replace several tail bearings too.

If you find that your bearings are OK then make sure the tail belt is tight enough. It must be tighter than you would set a T-Rex.

Karman, I may have figured it out. The transmitter input was set to Aux2 instead of Gear, where the gyro is, so I corrected that. In doing so, however, I reset all my TX settings. I restored everything and spooled it up. Everything was going smoothly (no wag) until she lifted off in a graceful arc to the right and down into the grass. Turns out in the reset I forgot to reverse my pitch servo, so now I have a bent main shaft and flybar to replace. Inauspicious beginning.

Thanks, Turbo. I'll have a chance to check that stuff as I'm replacing my main shaft. There's definitely vibration in there.

sorry to hear man... ;-(. at least u found the issue!

1: make sure blades proper balanced (out box not always balanced even with CF)

2: check paddles, make sure they same length from head.. that 90% of time the issue. if not main blades.
