My Posts This: Topic Forum | I had a bent tail rotor hub on a ship a while back. Although everything looked alright at speed, I had three sets of boom struts fail (aluminum ends stress cracked) due to high speed vibrations. I finally got the hint (after the third set failed) that this was not a case of "Align parts blues" .
Now I always remove the tail rotor assembly and flex the grips in a circular motion. If the hub rotates while performing this, it's bent and needs replacement.
Whether or not this situation is applicable in your situation, it's a good thing to check whenever there has been trauma to the tail.
