nope just the esc is melted century says that most likely somthing arked in the motor causing it to burn up the esc i think somthing in the esc messed up i pulled the red wire from the esc and plugged it into the throttle channel thats correct right ???

everything is working just the motor and the esc are not im not sure though if the motor is the problem or the esc is the problem i would hate to buy a new esc and it happen again

why do the \century esc have a red power wire if u cant used them ??

That does suck. I have seen that one other time, but, 2 motor leads touched. The small gap in the shrink was just enough to allow it. The ESC looked just like yours.

hmmm

Same thing just happened to me , same set-up too. Kind of weird because it happened while the heli was sitting on the ground waiting for me to tweak some settings on the TX. I did have the red servo wire plugged in though...I power my rx with separate battery.

"Century Heli"

if you look at this post, you will see that they were quite helpful. i just hope they continue to be - at least for us loyal swift flyers.

Try to get a look at the windings to see if those bolts may have shorted them out. It happens. I have over-taxed two Century motors with 550 blades. The result is that the windings turned on the base-plate and shorted out, thus releasing the Majic smoke.

Motor bolts need to be kept short .

Should've bought a sim. Got a bucket of used blades!

you can check the motor windings with an ohm meter. measure all 3 legs.
black to red, black to yellow, red to yellow, they should all measure the same. Then check each wire to ground (stator housing) to make sure that none of them go to ground.

If I'm not crashing, I'm not flying fast enough!!!

Try holding the base of the motor and see if the windings turn compared to the base(outercan removed). This is where both my lightning 550 and 600+ motors both let go. When it turned a few degrees the motor screws no longer cleared the windings and shorted them out. ESC did same thing. Canopy detroyed. Flames everywhere. In any case look closely into the end of the motor and look for evidence of arcing/sparking stretched winding etc. With the mounting bolts removed you may not have a short circuit.

Should've bought a sim. Got a bucket of used blades!

Yes, ANY motor will be shorted out and fail, causing escessive heat and motors along with esc's to burn out if one uses motor attachment bolts that are too long ant that extend into the motor far enough to contact the windings.

I always check that these bolts clear properly befor ever conecting for power.

I also learned this lesson the hard way on an Align 450.
