you guys with problems, check you speedO's manual, because the speedO you use need's to have a top speed of 2000 MPH or more, if not it will not read the right head speed,,

example, it a given speedO only read's to 999 MPH it will only read to a 999 head speed..

Hey,
Just a slight clarification here.
The Max speed the odomoter needs to register is 250kph.
All the odomoters i'v seen give out values to one decimal point, so we use this to get our headspeed.
So where are the readout says 170kpm, it will be interperated as 1,700rpm.
The 1667 appears to give a ratio of 10rpm to each kmp
Pretty nifty i'd say.
Many speedos do read up to 999 pulses, but there are a couple that wont register all the way up *sighs*.
But yeah, unless you plan to be running 9,990rpm, you should be fine

Hi,

I have tried a VDO Cytec8, a Sigma BC800 and a Cateye Velo5 and none of them seem to work on my Raptor.

They all ask for WS (circumference) not Diameter, and they all max out at 3999mm.

Are you guys sure that your computers are asking for Diameter?

Thanks,

Mark.

PS can anyone show me how the 1667 figure is actually calculated?

I also have the Cateye Velo 5. The number you need is circumference
, but for this model use 167 because it has to be entered in centimeters not mm. Mine works great. That is all I did execpt make sure it is set for km/h display. Just enter [167] wheel circumference.

To read push button untill display is km/h tach the heli.
a display of 240.0 km/h would equal 2400 rpm. The sensor needs to be close to the magnet about 5mm. I did test with magnet attached to electric drill, rpm rating was printed on side, very accurate.

Hope this works for you.
