Thanks guys.. The sanding is going pretty well and not as bad as I thought... Like Dr Tim, I did the sanding outside by the driveway and let the wind take the dust away... I've had some piece sizing problems with the build, but Dr Tim and I have been working threw those issues..

The nose is basically done.. Some final sanding then moving on down the fuselage.

I want to put some panel lines in on the TSU.. I was thinking of cutting in the lines with a knife then putting Finishing Resin on the unit.. Any other thoughts guys?

Finishing resin is the easiest onb parts like that. On my Apache, I took someone's advice and tried Kilz. It worked great and built up enough layer that I can carve panel lines using the metal tip of a mechanical pencil. Though the main fuse is still gonna get glassed, Kilz is legit on the main housing/doghouse. The resin might fill in the lines. But I'm still new at this, so could be wrong.

Yeah. It goes on thick. If you do it in coats, it'll sand really smooth and fill any wood grain or blemishes. But I learned you have to do it in thin coats, otherwise it'll dry with bubbles.

Walmart or any auto store ...like auto zone or such has a product for priming /filling and it sprays on very thick and can be recoated withing a few mins and it sands really easy .Can't remember the brand name as we have moved and not all that stuff has come down the road 35 miles with us yet .... one caravan full at a time now that the major stuff is moved.... ( I am thinking it was by plasitc coat but not sure but is specific for filling and easy sand stated on the can )

Grant, there was a customer in Germany that Split the housing down the middle so the whole upper piece became two. He put tabs on one side so he could screw the halves together. worked real well.

The cockpits that Maff makes are absolutely superb but, boy are you going to have to pay for it. The best costs money. Maybe if enough of you band together you can get a bulk price

That's what I'm kind of thinking.. One set might be cost prohibitive..

I haven't heard back from they yet Jan, but I really think it will be way to expensive.. I'm questioning if us Raptor guys will be able to fit a full cockpit in there anyway.. Your thoughts?

I'll give you clue, the cockpit I bought from Maff cost close to $1000. It's a lot more detailed than the ones you want, but on that basis I would guess between $500 and $1000 each.

I said they were expensive and I wasn't exaggerating.
