I just ordered a 6 volt RX pack, and a 5volt regulator, so I will have longer life on the RX. It was sucking down the pack pretty quick. I sure like that voltwatch LED bar.

Thinking about a LED bar fuel gauge as well for the main tank. Anyone got any links to one of those?

wow, just found this fuel guardian sensor. Its cheap too!!

I'm going to put one in the main tank. I'm tired of trusting the header visual reference.

man I am so mad. Had the cobra all ready to go out and get some serious flight time in. Had the camera set up and ready. This new fueler is a piece of crap - once I gassed up it let fuel into the carb line (which its NOT supposed to do)

So much fuel in fact that the piston locked in the cylinder, and the whole drivetrain and fan came loose. So now I have to pull the whole chassis out of the helicopter, disassemble it and tighten up the fan, driveshaft and drive gear

I've always used a Du-Bro Kwik Fill Fueling Valve and have not had any problems with them.

its this one. I was pretty much ready to spontaneously combust.

Its all fixed, I have it 90% back together. Will fly it tomorrow, with video. I have some surgical hemostats, I am just going to clamp the carb line from beneath while I fuel it from now on.

The byonette slimline has no moving parts and cannot inadvertantly send fuel to......

the carb while fueling...the cap that fits over the insert looks scale too

I'm probably going to have to pull the chassis back out one more time when my fuel watcher comes in. I will have to install the probes into the fuel tank

its a good thing though. it gives me a chance to look over the mechanics and see if anything is coming loose

The cap on the plank is the fuel filler opening

The cap on the plane/heli is the cover for a bulkhead mounted fuel filler. The part in me hand is the actual filler from the pump; the "O" rings seal against any leakage and the byonette id hollow and direct feed to the tank.

got a couple more 5 minute flights in today. It was windy so its a bit squirrely. I was having a LOT of trouble with the tail, I was certain that the gyro wasnt holding.

you will see the thing pirouette and I dumped it back into the grass. Thinking it was a gyro sensitivity issue I played with gyro gain and flew again. I barely got this thing home in 1 piece. I had a failure of the tail rotor gearbox. The 2 white bearings had destroyed themselves and the tail was driving sometimes, not other times.

watch at the very end of the video, I had killed the engine, and popped the collective again, it jumped back off the ground a couple inches.

New tail gearbox time
