this looks like the future in rc. right now the system is for airplane only but it can't be that difficult to make one for helicopter and if it is successful other company will start making there own version. One thing that is missing is a temp monitoring

Hmmm

What would be one step beyond and is very possible in the digital age we live in would be to have the computer take the data and then recreate the flight so you could watch it in RealFlight for example!

Missing temp monitoring AND RPMs. I don't understand why they didn't add these features in, the cost for doing so is extremely minimal. I refuse to buy one until they do

adding rpm monitoring would be nice but it would add some complexity like the gv-1

data recorder, simulator replay

The Rotomotion flight controller will do this. The ground station control software has a logging switch. The data file that is produced can be run through our simulator for replay. Our simulator graphics are not high tech (nothing like Realflight). But, our physics are very, very accurate, of course, this doesn't matter in regards to the data logging/replay function. Oh, the groundstation also reenacts the flight so you can see all the instruments (artificial horizon, guages, charts, etc.) and moving maps update.

For temperature, try my device!

It links to a TI-89 calculator

I have a complete flight recorder in the works, and was a bit suprised to see the idea as a product already in the latest Model Aviation... Oh well!

Just ordered on to test out on my Heli

Hello all,

Just wanted to you guys know that I have ordered one for
my Robbe Milli 2. I really care about the volatge readings
thoughout the flight to see it the voltage ever gets to a very
critical state. Everything else is a real bonus.

Will let you know...

Hi, All!

Thanks for the feedback!

Good news on the temp/RPM monitoring. We're developing an inexpensive add-on board that does both of these, and will plug into the existing recorders. This should be ready in a few weeks. I'll post here when we're there.

Regarding heli specific stuff, the good news here is that we can add just about anything to our app to make this more heli-friendly. WB/others, just let me know (post here or email info@eagletreesystems.com) and we'll work on getting stuff added!

Looking to digitize helicopter flight into simulation, how?

I'm a commercial helicopter pilot who likes making instructional videos to help people understand helicopter that much more without having to pay for it.

Here is what was suggested to me, and I would like to here what you guys have to say. Besides having multiple camera angles, I am wondering if it would be possible to some how setup sensors monitoring my control inputs and so forth, and have that data somehow converted into in animation, looking somewhat like a flight simulator.

Can I do this, I'm not an electronic person and looking for some guidance on this.

Thanks!

Michael
