Started my Heli in full throttle. Smelled burnt rubber smell. Tried spooling it up afterwards and it skipped. So.. Took it apart and there is still lots of rubber there. How can you tell if it's bad? Just take it for face value since I smelled it? I changed the liner.. Still same thing. Can the clutch get ruined from this?

I say, if your throttle is above a quarter stick and it still isn't fully engaged, then it's time to replace the liner.

I've allowed some clutch liners to get really worn down and it's not that big 'a deal.

If the liner becomes thin enough the clutch will have to stretch to far to contact the liner. This will sometimes cause the clutch to loose it's ability to spring back into shape when you reduce RPM's, resulting in a "sprung" or locked up clutch.

I can ruin a V1 clutch just looking at it funny, but the V2 style seems to me much more tolerant.

<sigh>

If you're going to double check everything I tell you then don't bother PM'ing me and or calling me and asking. Just ask here and go with the majority.

Soap Opera

Nobody down here is into Heli's. So if I want to get my machine running I either have to read or go through crap trial and error. You're not always online bro.
