I think I have the same problem and I just crashed my 700E because of it. I've also had a few blockout with my Rave. The 700E went in head first and didn't respond. The receiver lights were blinking when I got to the heli. It was about 20m away from me so it wasn't a range problem. I'm using a 2s2p 3200 pack in my 700E, and it was almost fully recharged.

Sorry to hear that man. My lights On Satelite don't flash just orange light goes out and a second later comes back I'm betting it's due to voltage regulator in my dx7

I'm not thinking RX (heli) is problem . I had DX7 do this it was connections on TX reg . I re soldered and all was fine .
? ? ? That sounds like the TX is at fault - - -
The regulator feeding the RF module in the DX7 is a linear regulator and will not handle excess voltage. And Spektrum knows this.

There has been a switching regulator replacement thread before that will fix this problem and give extra TX battery life in the switch.

I replaced my receiver (AR7000) and checked my solder joints (Voltage Regulator Mod). Hopefully my test flight will end successfully.

How many people have (that you know) actually fried a TX?

Odd you should say that but....

Have just repaired a X3810 (8103) that had suffered cremation damage to the RF pcb.

Last month I repaired 2 x DSX9's (X9303) that had Q1 burn outs due to LiPo's.

Previously ?? A slack handful !

Not having been inside a X9303, can you elaborate on where Q1 is in the circuit ?

Q1 provides the VCC voltage and is fed from the main battery pack via the fuse and IS NOT SWITCHED.

If this blows, the typical symptom is that whenever you turn off and turn on again, it defaults to the same model memory each time. So say you where on memory 7, you turn off and turn on again, it jumps to memory 4 for example each & every time. No changes are saved etc etc ...

Stock voltage regulator isn't cut out for lipos, I replaced mine with an aftermarket regulator and haven't looked back. Battery lasts me 45 days without charging. Cant possibly ask for more.

General thoughts are that there is a problem with the TX. So I sent the Tx and 3 AR7000's back to Horizon. Will update with results.

Update

Sad to report that my T-Rex 500 dropped from about 6 feet up and 20 feet away. .. Now I need a new transmitter.

Issue Resolved

Solder joint was loose as a result of the Voltage Regulator Mod..

Horizon has always done right by me. I have no complaints. When I spoke to the service rep. he said that they were out 20 days on returning products.

Had it happen to me yesterday. Flying my 600, thought that it was a problem with the servos. So I didn't trust it to fly again. Grabbed the 700 and threw her up in the air. About 1/4 tank later had no control and a piro that I couldn't stop. Almost like it rebound, and in she went. At least I know its the radio not the heli, I guess.
