Just got to spool up for the first time tonight and have a horrible wobble in the head.

I checked the shaft before I installed it.Rolled on glass.Straight.
The flybar is straight and exactly the same length out both sides.
Blades are tracking perfectly.Pitch is equal.

The rotor button looks steady but the silver ring the blade grips form when spinning appears to be off centered.

Any ideas?

Change the dampers. Check blade balance. Check blade tracking.

OK.It's not a wobble.It's a bobble

I just tried again and it seems pretty stable except that the tail bobs up and down.

I changed the dampeners in the head for the wobble but I think that didn't help.I think the wobble was one of the flybar paddles needed two complete turns to get equal length.Wierd.I centered the flybar and then counted the turns when I put the paddles on.I never bothered to measure and it appears that the threading must start in a different spot since they were a 1/16 of an inch off center.Duh.

Anywho, what will make the tail bob up and down?

Ken,we must have posted at the same time.
I changed the dampeners from black to grey and balanced the blades. They were off a smidge. The tracking is still perfect though.

Any ideas on the tail bobbing up and down?

Thanks for the reply

Seriously???
I have a Scorpion 4025 1100kv and a 14T pinion.
Should I get a bigger pinion or bring my throttle curve up faster?

I just ordered a 15T pinion.I can't find a 16T anywhere in stock with a 5mm shaft and MOD 7.

Tomorrow I'll swap out the Scorpion with the stock 650L.The stock motor is a little higher kv and has a 15T.

We'll see what that does.

Thanks for the help.

I also just realized something else. The pinion on the Scorpion is MOD 6 and the main gear is MOD 7.
Could that effect the heli like this?

I just installed the stock motor with 15T pinion and MOD 7 toothing.
Tomorrow I'll try and see if it smoothes out.

I'll get some idle up in in the morning and maybe some inverted stuff

Thanks a mil for the heads up on head speed
