Very nice. But that lake looks very deep, any failure over that and I bet no recovery.

Beautiful. I would like to know more about the 50 minute electro-vario. My acrobatic is still gas, does well, and is DJI'ed as well.

Any video footage?

Very nice setup and beautiful places. Thanks for sharing.
What kind of modification allows so long flight time?

5300 meters, that's over 17000 feet ! Are there any real helicopters that can do that ?
Yes, tell us about the mods to get that kind of flight time and altitude.

Theoretical max alt height for flying helis are about 8000m before you start loosing lift capab due to thinner air.

So THE most important thing we ALL wanna know now is the info about the 50 min flight

Nice pics btw!

Never argue with an idiot, he'll drag you down to his level and beat you with experience...

I am not interested in any of the picture that shows heli flying on a nice terrain. I would (may be) in the pictures taken from the chopper though.

Now all I want to know is how you are getting 50 minutes flight time.

Thin air results in less drag on the blades but I don't think this explains the 50 minutes.

Could you share your power set up please?

The heli has a 910mm blade and the RPM is about 1100(only 900 at sea level) we use a 10 cell 12AH battery.
larger disc area and lower RPM result in higher efficiency.
the equation is: the lower the tip speed of the blade, the higher the efficiency.

It looks like a gas Acrobatic (what I run) converted to electric, with some #428 blades on it, just a guess...

Westwind, how does DJI handle the low headspeed? My flights with DJI and headspeeds around 1400 have been better off than those around 1250, due to cyclic authority. Perhaps it's just the windy place I live at.
