My Posts This: Topic Forum | I guess it is all relative to what one is looking for.
For example, my older TSK Gasser, that was very much the same as the Hirobo Eagle II gasser in performance, were both a lot heavier then my Predator Gasser and both came with the rather low-powered Tanaka 24 motor. It flew about like a 30 with the older OS 28FH or 32FH engines. I would not want to try even rather basic 3D flight with any of them. Sport aerobatics (loops, rolls, inverted and 540 stall turns would be about it)would be about their comfortable limit.
On the other hand, my relatively (for 90 size gassers) light Predator gasser with the G-231 engine and V1 muffler is a much superior performer in the 3D arena, not up to its' 90 nitro brother, but more like the 60 version withn a higher torqued engine.
So I would expect that maybe the Z-20 powered Gasser with 620 to 640mm blades would fly much like the heavier 50 nitros (e.g. Evo 50) did with the OS-46 or initial OS-50 (non-hyper) engines, which is still quite formidable. This would not be like the NX-50 with the Hyper or YS50, but still probably more capable then 80% of the flying community will ever become.
And of course all while costing only 10% as much for fuel as their nitro bretheren. |
