So I'm wondering...

Is a 50 size heli gasser going to be ligher or heavier than your average 50 size nitro heli?

Also is a 50 size gasser going to be more or less powerful than a 50 size nitro heli?

Good enough for me I love my hawk. And to fly something cheaper than nitro. That is crazy great!

There is a long way to go before it would smell like the Aurora, which was over two years from the announcement of the prototypes to the availability of the models. Heck the 50 sized gasser was only announced at the AMA show this past January.

How many models has Avante launched in their corporate lifespan? How many have Century launched during theirs??

No new news just that it is still under testing.

Century never announced a release just a prototype and that they were working on one. If it were ready it would be out or a firm release date even noted. Century does not do that any more pre announce release. When they come out they post them on the web site and advertise it. When you see that you know other than that it is all speculative dates.

Comparing it to the aurora stuff that went on is like apples and oranges? century has not taken pre orders or pushed back an advertised date. I do not get that comment

Gas helis are so different than nitro and the R&D is much more exstensive.

I don't want to be an Align customer

I say let them take their time to do it right.

It may be too late this season for the Gasser for me but at least I will have a great heli come spring

Century Heli USA told me that the model is currently IN PRODUCTION and to be completed by September 15, 2009. From there it will be kitted, put into containers and shipped to the Distributors from the factory in China.

That's straight from Century Heli USA as of today.

Also is a 50 size gasser going to be more or less powerful than a 50 size nitro heli?

First, I do not think anyone should expect any 50 sized gas helicopter to have near as good a power to weight ratio, or as light a disc loading as does any decent 50 nitro. Just as the G-231/G-260 Predator or other big gassers do not rate the same in these areas as do the 90 sized nitros.

I look to it to be a far less expensive heli to run, then my 50 nitros, just as my 710mm bladed Predator GS is compared to my Predator 90.

Will it be 3D capable, most probably, just as is the big Preddy. Will it be as capable of extreme 3D as the NX for example - I do not think it will have the power to weight or the light enough disc loading required to be so. Again, just as the big Preddy GS is compared to the Preddy 90.

But it will probably still be a credible alternative for anyone that is not into the more extreme type of 3D, and who is looking for something, in that size, that is far less costly to run then a 50 nitro.
