I have a Kinetic .50 and I'm thinking about doing some upgrades on the rotor head. The stock ball links in the bell mixer arms are set in an orientation that when extended to either extreme, puts the angle of the links such that they are subject to popping off pretty easily. I'm going to get the CNC upgrade for that which puts the ball links at 90 degrees from there so that won't happen, but I'm thinking about upgrading the rest of the head as well.

I don't remember but I know that the Helimax Kinetic .50 is a rebranded Century something.

I don't remember which Century helicopter the rotor head comes from, but I'd like to know which Century helicopter rotor head upgrade I can get to upgrade my Kinetic .50

I appreciate the input.

Thanks.

Good morning, I always thought that the Kinetic is a Falcon and the scale mechanics with landing gear. I don't have any binding in my bell mixers. I have 11° of pitch and 8° of cyclic. As for the CNC head, I would think that the Raven/NX head would work.

When the Kinetic 50 first came out there was a lot of questions relative to what it really was.

Consequently I wrote the linked article to explain it all.

http://www.leisuretech.ca/index.php...__hawl_and_k50/

It will show you all the similarities to the Hawk Pro and the many differences from the then Raven 50. Now there would be even more differences between it and the new NX-50.

reddragon & jrett

Wow, I and many others have been posting valuable info on these forums for many year, and it is always nice to get thanked for something. It seems to have become a relatively rare occurance in today's world.

You are both very welcome. Glad to be of assistance.

Kinetic .50 is like a

The K50 as I like to call it

Flies great just like a Hawk Pro but with a 50 (using a TT53 RL)

I have a few upgrades on mine
Raven head & tail , Raven gears and auto rotation unit
and a tiny lil bit of bling But everything else is stock !

Aside from some mechanical issues with the oneway (hopefully fixed)
It flies great and is very stable I'm happy with it
I actualy prefer it over the Raven

if you already have a Hawk I would buy a Raven and use the Hawk control system instead of the Eccpm
The Raven is the best 300$ upgrade on the market for a Hawk pro

You're welcome Phil. Anytime sometimes helps us out it's a blessing. Too many are quick to flame someone first and give help last. You are outstanding.

I suggest that if you find the mechanical control system of your K50 flies better then your the eCCPM system of your Raven, then I am sure it is all in the set-up or due to the use of some different equipment used between the two.

The predecessor to the Raven was the Falcon SEV2, which was exactly the same heli as the Raven V2. I had both set-up with the same servos, gyro, motor, muffler, governor, blades.

I found the Raven to have the edge. When setting-up for max precision of the control systems, there was much less interaction to mix-out with the Raven (almost none) for hands off, right-side up or inverted hover or for hard climbs (max collective) both right side-up or inverted.

Much more was required with the mCCPM system of the Hawk and Falcon or K50.

And the collective pop was a bit better on the Raven. P.S. Doubling up on the collective arm on the Falcon did help here, as did going to a fast and very high torque collective servo. This doubling of the collective arm makes it more rigid.

I bet after you were finished upgrading your K-50 to the head from the Raven etc, that the total cost was much more then that of just buying a Raven.

Nah it was very inexpensive as I already have several kits lying around
I keep buying used kits off of EBAY cheap

Actualy if you buy a Raven and already have the Hawk Pro I would just combine the 2

I hate to admit it but thats a very close description of my Heli room

I love the ways that Century is so adaptable.
But I will stick with my current configurations
Both 30 & 50 size
Hawk Pro ccpm control system
Raven Heads & tails
CTD

maybe I'll take a Pic of the Heli Zone as I like to call it
