I liked the original version better
it ran smoother and was quicker to start

this newer version IMO. loads slower, is not as smooth(graphics)
is a waste of time as they seem to be going backwards with quality
BUT it does looks better

I haven't had time to play with it or upgrade. I'm using my 10X and that seems to be working well.

I had time to explore Phoenix. After a few firware updates to my computer the software is working great. I haven't went for the 2.5 yet. I will wait a few weeks for the team to work out more of the system bugs.

Sounds to me like they have put a lot of what people ask for into Phoenix and now some computers cannot cope with the upgrade. You cannot keep on upgrading the software without the hardware loosing out somewhere along the line.

I have put a few hours on 2.5 now , and I not having any issues. I think the collective and cyclic feel far more like the real thing than the previous version.

I'm happy so far.

I do have a fast PC and video card however. Frame rate seems to stay on a solid 60fps with 1600x 1050 res.

Upgraded to 2.5. Works! I had to update the drivers in my computer but I haven't had a reason until now. The software works good. Still spools up fast. I read that the team is aware of the problem. Other then that it is working good.

I like it that you can do a blade scrape.
Is there a way to "hold a position". I don't like waiting for the heli to "spool" up.

i tried it, it doesn't work. It does hold your position for restarts but you still have to wait for the heli to spool up. RFG4 it was the "P" buttom to hold you position.

Kona, just did the start position option again to check.

You can re-start anywhere on screen by pressing the S key. It also restarts at whatever headspeed etc you were using at that time.

For example set the model in a nose in hover and press S and a little popup tells you position saved on bottom left of screen. When you crash after the 3 seconds (or what ever your re-set time is set to) it resets the model at the nose in position as selected. You just need to have the throttle stick at the hover position to match.

Are you running 2.5g ?

Found out there is an option to enable in the Program setup> Physics menu with an option to "restart after a crash at throttle speed". That solved my question.
