Tonight I was repeatabley practicing pretty fast landing approaches on my 1005 /SE w/ Hanson. I noticed that only when in the down hill approach I hear one blade making a subtle different noise and it's only when it's comming toward's me.

It's not a bark, and not quite a sizzel, almost like a a loose piece of tracking tape which it isn't. The only thing I noticed after messing around a full tank was a long piece of grass hanging off at about the one third mark. Got to dark to run another tank

Blades are cheap Mavrik wide cord knockers and I runn a pretty hot head speed. Tracking is +/- 1/16" "so what "

Only thing I can think of is it was the grass -any body heard a single blade noise before -

I wish I could hear good enough to identify a single blade noise, guess I better get that hearing aid now

Good luck finding it

The only times i have heard the noise you describe is just before something lets go.I would check everthing at the top end of the mainshaft including your blades to be on the safe side. The last time i landed because of such a noise a blade grip ball joint had come loose and i was very lucky it never came out before landed.Unusual noises and behaviour are usually a good sign all is not well.I have sometimes learnt that the hard way

Team- unbiased opinion,no experts here just trying to help thats all.K.I.S.S principle upheld here

Thanx Shaw you probabley saved one for me

Your right I better not blow it off This gasser Has a Pro Head
and I have grip bearings in it which I pulled the sheilds off a while back cause I didn't like a small ding I saw in one. I'm holding off new shieided and sealed bearings till this winter. I bet the bearings are dry as heck from slinging it out.

I'll re scale the blades with my digital, and grab the grease needle.
One of the inherent gasser problems is that you just gas em and thats' it. Last time I found a battery I didn't remember I had and my foam was all knarley.

Thanx : Probabley find a new bug or something under the hood

I've had that happen on another helicopter when one blade was at a different pitch than the other. The cause was the bolt holding the blade to the spindle shaft working itself loose allowing one blade to "wobble".

Update

Found a few things that may have brought it on.

Both outboard head spindel bearings were completley dry: Re-greased

Top mainshaft bearing had lube : But's been leaking thru : Switched to Mobil PolyRex Eurea EM

Scaled the blades on the digital : A- 191.6 gram B - 191.1 : Balanced

Mini spider on the love joy coupler: Raja's jewel - shot : Replaced

Small coupler 1/2 : Bit of wobble and loose : Added additional screw

This stuff is extremely viscous. Can you really use it on bearings?
