I am actually somewhat surprised on the comments on repair costs.. yes. the N9 is more pricey than a 700.. but then again i think most who have flied both would agree that the 700 does not track as well as the n9.

but i dont see it as a huge difference as compared to other high end helis... I have both n9s and 700 - so i can easily compare a relatively 'bad' crash between both.. I will leave the canopy out as what you pay can be quite varied depending on what you buy..

T700: (for those items which come 2 per pack i took the retail price and divided by 2.. realize that since you need to buy 2 at a time when it does come time to buy parts the out of pocket is much higher than that noted below)

Blade Grip: $25
Flybar: $4
Main shaft: $9
Main Gear: $8.50
Feathering shaft: $4.50
Boom: $8.50
Rear TT gears: $12
Front TT gears: $11
Main shaft bearing+support: $25
Rear tail bearings: $10
Tail control arm: $13
Skids $6
Landing gear: $7
Tail rotor: $14
Torque Tube: $16
Main BLades: $120
tail Blades: $25
Paddles: $30

Total $348.50

Synergy n9:
Main Shaft BNG: $12.5
Crown Gear: $40
Main gear (not going to put it as never seen one break)
Landing Gear: $15
LG Skids: $10
T/R control rod: $12.50
Torque Tube: $24
Tail output shaft: $12.50
Tail gears: $36
Tail Grip: $2.50
Main Grip: $22
Feathering shaft: $10
Main shaft: $16
Boom: $20
Flybar: $10
Misc tail Bearing: $7.50
tail bellcrank: $3
Main blades: $120
tail blades: 25
Paddles: $30

Total: $428.50

Basically $80 difference.. not even the cost of a case of fuel..

Is it more expensive - yes.. but its not double.... maybe 20% or so...

well when your running hyper parts and those start getting damaged the price shoots up quite a bit. I personally have tore up a main gear and they run $50

Wow.. seen many n9 crashes - never seen a main gear break.. anything can happen though

on the Hyper stuff.

Hyper Drive TT is $31 vs. the stock $24...
HyperGrip arm kit is $25 for two carbon arms vs. $22 for a single stock grip. the bearing prices are the same. (i run hyper.. i honestly dont see a material difference in crash cost.. the way the carbon grip end breaks off and saves the rest of the grip is ingenious..)

point though.. it is more expensive.. but not double like some would suggest.. having said that.. synergy should drop their prices on some items like the tail gears, crown gear, etc... its a bit excessive..

We had a ball unscrew, but never had a link pop off in 3 years they just dont come off in flight even when over sized. Thats the first time I have heard of that happening, also never heard of a link breaking in flight either.

I don't think the N9 is so much more expensive than other 90s. It is a little more like someone above said, about 20%. It is a very tough heli compared to others. It has a lower parts count as well. The N9 tracks like no other heli. I like the way it flys similar to a pattern airplane and it can do big air manuevers.
