All I have had is nothing but trouble. I have replaced every part on this heli and this tail still goes crazey. I can fly for a minute and the tail has a slight wag and when I do punch outs the tail will swing. After about a minute the tail will go a full 45 deg back and forth very rapidly and basically I have to crash the machine. Now I have so many of these small screws head stripped and I can not get it apart anymore. This is been the worst machine that I have ever owned. I have the scorpion motor in it, Mini-G gyro and the 3400 tail server. I have tried all the modes including preloading to chines waits and the tail just goes like crazy. It is really pi$$ me off. All the money I put into this thing I could have gotten another Rave.

Sorry to hear that.

I've heard mixed things about the 250. Of course I've heard about some having tail problems, but I've also seen them fly VERY (surprisingly) nicely.

I have for the most part had no issues with mine, nor have the other couple of members around here that got them after mine.. I have let a more accomplished pilot wring mine out and he was impressed with it as well...

I have had no stripped heads and am using the factory Align .9mm tool..

Do not know what to tell you, maybe the Micro stuff is not for you..

Rick

If in doubt lean it out . We don't do this to save money, we save money to do this

my tail was like that.
took a new servo, CF rod, metal boom block, metal actuator, metal output shaft and several crashes to get it right.

as for screws use the MIP .9 tool it rocks.

or change out all the screws with the new screw pack that changes from .9 to 1mm

It sucked at first but now its my fave toy for messing around in smaller areas.

I have done all of that except the CF Rod.

Could there be an issue with the Mini-G. Maybe there is a setting I am doing wrong.

I do have the MIP .9, but even then when you take it apart so many times they were out quick.

Thanks
Joe

I know how you feel. I have just started putting mine back together, its been sitting on the table busted up for a few months now! I have had nothing but trouble with mine also, I have never landed it, it always comes down on its own! I guess I had enough time to calm down and start repairing it. I'll just try again, hopefully it will fly better this time! Not getting my hopes up though!

The tail is a bitch to setup right. Most of the problems i had was binding on tail. Junk the pushrod and make a crabon fiber one, it helps out alot. One big problem with the metal push rod is , if you twist the hoops (any amount) you trow off the gyro settings.

Hello everyone, I may have to agree with the rickster, maybe the micro stuff isn't for you. I dont' know how experienced you are but it definatley takes patience and setting it up correctly with no binding. I got mines for x-mas built it, took my time setting it up and it flew great and that was about a 190 flights ago and counting.

my setup
scorpion 2206/3900kv (just installed, lots o power)
15t pinion
stock esc
stock servo's
logictech 2100/3100 servo
outrage flybar paddles
metal boom block and bearing blocks
align 205d's
My heli fly's sick flips and rolls on it's axis.
I love it more every flight!

I got mine when it first came out. No issue with the tail other than being too tight on the screws. Tail is rock solid with the stock gyro and DS290 tail servo.

I wanted to improve on the tail and I used the preloaded spacers and chinese weights. It made it worst. Took it out and went back to the upgraded tail grip(one bearing per side), it is good now. I want to try the new weight tail hub from Align though.

MIP .9 allen tool is a must. Have had rounded the head on couple of them with the stock tool.

I am very patient and I have had nine helis now. This is just been a pain as the only way to see if it works is to fly it and if it does not work it crashes. No one seems to know the fix for this one as it is different. I have checked every part and the tail is smooth as glass. The question is could it be the gyro? I am going to take the Chinese weights off and try the carbon push rod next.

Joe...

I would start from square one. Use the stock tail (assuming you have the new hub). Did you buy the super combo? If so, try the gyro. It works well. That will rule out the CY. Or change it with any other gyro just to see. (I see you have a few helis in your profile. Maybe borrow a gyro?). Also make sure the ball on the tail servo arm is only out far enough to optimize travel for the gyro/servo (100 or a little more is best)

The only thing I have done with mine is change the tail servo to a 3500g. That helped for locking the tail in but originally I had the stock tail servo and it was pretty good.

The biggest improvement was the replacement tail hub and making sure there was no friction what so ever. Always oil up the tail shaft too. Otherwise all stock and it did fly very well.

Regarding the screws. Yes...they are small. I have not had a single one strip. The tool has to be pushed firmly STRAIGHT onto the bolt and you will feel it seat or even click into the head and you have to hold the tool straight when using it.

The 250 is strange for a lot of folks since you cannot muscle anything down like a larger heli and you have to treat it delicately.

I understand you are frustrated and I have been in your shoes before but give the little guy another chance. Once it is flying good, the thing is a friggin blast and DIRT CHEAP to crash

Keep posting your results here and I'm sure the RR community can help you get the thing flying perfect.

jbdww, try another gyro, perhaps a 401 you might have laying around. If your tail is smooth it may be the gyro.I have a friend that put a gy520 on a 600 and for some reason had problems holding. swapped the gyro with one he had previously and it held fine.I think the gy520 has more settings with the computer.

OK I gave it a try again today. This time I used a carbon fiber tail push rod. It was finally flying with a very locked in tail until my push rod broke. So the question is how do you guys make a carbon fiber push rod. I drill some small holes on the very end of the carbon rod and epoxy the metal push rod on the end and added the link.

Beam pushrod fits the T250 ball links and have been used by T250 owners.

I finally got it working right. It was the Mini-G. I did a factory reset on the Mini-G and now the tail is rock solid. I must of did something on accident in the Mini-G.

I use the stock pushrod and go to the LHS and find a CF tube that fits very tightly over whatever size pushrod I'm using.
then a dab of epoxy on both ends to hold it on.. and then heat shrink the ends after i get the size right.
this gives you the rigidness of CF with the stock threads for adjustability.

Thank you Jay,
I actually did find some 3mm CF Tube that worked very nicely. I do think the regular wire going thought the support in the middle was binding.
