My N9 isn't tracking like it used to in fast forward flight and it could be due to a number of reasons or combinations. The other day I noticed that there seems to be some slop in the hyperlevers when you move them by hand side to side between the head of the screw and the bearing/ inner race hub of the hyperlevers. The screws that go into the wash-out block through the hyperlevers bearings/inner race are fully seated and the washers that go between the levers and wash-out block are installed as well. I'm also using a trex 700 flybar, SAB 710MM 0226's, and Align 700 paddles. The flybar is 570mm vs. the Hyperbar 495mm. The heli is extremely pitchy and balloons in fast forward flight quite easily. It's great for stick banging but it seems that it's very sensitive for fast forward flight and corrections are constantly needed to keep it flying smoothly. Is this so called slop a perception of mine and may be the reason for the tracking issues or do your hyperlevers have this too? Anyone else using the 700 flybar with similar results? It could just be this combo of light blades, long flybar, and light paddles. Opinions welcome...Thanks

I have the same movement in my Hyperlevers too. It is normal. I would say the balloning and the pitching in fast forward flight is due to the align paddles. I would add weights or switch paddles to one that are heavier. this will give you a more stable heli in forward flight, but some of the "Pop" will be gone.

I would suggest that you remove the flybar carrier and inspect the shoulder bearings that go into the head block if you have not performed a teardown of the head.

Bearings should be good. This is the longest I've had the bird without a spill. I fly fairly hard but I wouldn't imagine the bearings in the carrier taking a dump from hard flying unless a crash had occurred. The stock 5mm flybar with the sab paddles seemed pitchy as well. Anyone else seem to think the same thing? clearly something isn't right. This heli used to fly like a locomotive. I went ahead and ordered another set of the hyperbars sicne thats the way I remember it flying from earlier. Maybe that will be the answer.

Nope, stock bar and paddles should track like its on rails. Same with the Align paddles and hyperbar.

Agreed, check your set up and paddle alignment also.

My N9 flew on rails with the stock setup and all of the sudden it progressively started to get pitchy in flight, very subtle and occasional at first, but it got scary over time. Everything LOOKED good until I took the head apart. The shoulder was not actually 100% broken, but it was enough to cause a problem.

I was chasing my tail looking at servos, servo gears, linkages, balls, bellcranks, paddles, etc.

Just a thought to consider.

The N9 should not be pitchy, period!

shoulder? I'm confused. What part are you referring to? So a part on the head was partially cracked or broken? Something tells me I may be chasing the wrong issue as well if you experienced a similar situation. I'm all ears as I've started to wonder like yourself if my servo's were developing issues with cenetering/slop or some other reason. Just when you start to think you've experienced all the issues a model can throw at you other ones present themselves and remind you otherwise.

He is refering to the bearings in the head that support the flybar carrier. They have little flanges on them. Also, how old is yours? does it have 4 bearing or just 2 for the flybar? If only 2 you should update to the 4 design.

Oh the bearings in the head block that hold the flybar carrier in place. I see. I'm pretty sure mine has four as my kit came with the addendums sheet explaining the new ball linkages and spacers on the flybar carrier.
