Make sure you go over EVERYTHING! I have heard too many people having issues with the RTF version not being truly RTF..........Ron

What helis have you built & flown successfully? In other words, what experience do you have with helis and where would you classify your heli set-up and flight skills?

The Swift heli, motor and esc that come with the RTF combo are capable of taking you right up into some pretty demanding 3D flying.

On the other hand, the servos, radio, battery pack, charger & gyro are very basic (more for basic training) and should be the first items you should look to upgrade - in the order listed.

Another good point to bring up..........do you have other heli pilots you can seek assistance from close to where you live? How about a Local Hobby Shop (LHS) where you can get assistance?

yes - good for you to take it slow. The Swift is a lot bigger but flies a lot better with even basic servos like the Futaba S-3001's. I found just changing to these S-3001's made a BIG difference in how well it flew.

Also be carful not to run the batteries too low.

There are some on the Century web site:

http://www.centuryheli.com/products...m?currentid=567

And a bunch of others on youtube.

like this one (specially from the 1:30 minute mark):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8sKM4hTnU4

or this (on only a 4S pack!!):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0C7...feature=related

Many of the ones on youtube seem to be of the Swift heli, with the Century motors & ESC's but with Futaba, JR or Spectrum radio gear. None I have seen with the RTF radio gear.

i for one am not a fan i bought one and had to rebuild the heli just to get it to fly well after the rebuild i can still say my blade cp pro 2 rtf tail held better then the swift rtf the lipo lasted about 5 flights then puffed so bad i threw it away i called century and they acteded like they were going to do somthing but after i told them i threw out the lipo they stoped responding to my emails and i can understand not wanting to replace a battery that i was unable to send back to them but as for the rest of the problem they blame it all on shipping oh well i guess im out of luck i have since rebuilt the heli all new servos gyro blades rx tx lipo ect and the heli flys great but if i wanted to build a heli from scratch i would have done that from the start and saved a whole lot of money

Would i buy a century heli again ? yes loved the heli after i replaced everything

Would i ever excpect any help from customer support ? NO

Mabey one day i will actually land one of these things !!

I assume by everything you mean "everything relted to the radio gear and gyro....sorta like OF said in his post at the beginning.

So, it seems going for one of their combos that include the Swift 16 heli with one of their motors and one of their ESC's would be the best way to go - then adding Futaba, JR, Airtronics or HiTec radio & gyro gear would be the way to go.

I found the same to be true of even the 400 sized RTF's I bought in the past.
