To be sure I am thinking of the right part, what is the part number - or what page & step in the instruction manual?

The length of that spacer is critical to the gear mesh. It is 15.58mm in length.

Ok. That sounds right. I agree with the gear meshing. New gear set
installed. Just can't get the new tailcase to close together??
Maybe I am getting old??

you should be able to get that case closed with a vise and/or a hammer.

are you sure the bearings are seated properly?

Don't even joke about it!

The case should close pretty damn well without any effort. something is assembled incorrectly.

Ohhh, I am doing the Hawk sport version for the drive wire.
We can't afford torque tubes due to high auto prices
Aren't the gears same for Sport or Pro ????????????

Anyway, who knows the thickness of the tailcase bearings?

Yes, Chris you are correct. I mked them and they are the correct bearings. I trimmed the tube spacer to 15.89 mm . The tailcase now closes but the gear mesh is too tight !!
Now what ??

Ok. I'll try that. I did notice a bit of a molded ridge there now
that you mention it. Don't ever remember seeing that before .

I put the proper brass spacer on the tail shaft and filed the output gear ridge down and it is turning. I noticed the inner race of the
output bearing was raised a bit. Seems to turn ok now. Used Raptor
silicone grease for the gears.
