Guys, I went straight from 2.0Q to the final release of 2.5 but for some reason the newest scenery does not appear in the scenery list, it is most definitely downloaded.
Anybody else got this problem???

Am I still in control?......................OH!

ROFL dude, this is a highish spec 15.4" laptop we're talking about, and the FPS is fine for every 3D application other than the latest version of Phoenix with 3 helis + going on lowest settings. That's not normal my friend.

Also you should use v-sync or you'll get massive tearing. Your screen most likely has a refresh rate of 60hz or 70hz, that is the max FPS it can show, any more and the GFX card is pushing out too many at once and that = tearing.

My main rig is a quad core monster but that's not the point, a mid spec well looked after laptop should be able to run any application on lowest settings.

Also I haven't run this final version (version before that) so it may well be fixed.

not tearing at all.
very smooth.

I do not like Vynch on even when I hard core game.

play with a very fast 2MS game panel and tearing is nearly non existent.

The screen response time has nothing to do with tearing.

K is just as goofy as the rest. Physics on the cyclic are weird. It drops to much when you flip inverted. Inverted autos do not work. In general the physics setup in 2.0n is still better. I am really hoping this gets tweaked.

What do you mean inverted autos do not work? I think now they are a little too easy!

I agree though that the heli's drop a little too much when flipping inverted.

It is the same as before. When transitioning out of an invert it loses headspeed and crashes. I did manage to land a few but it would be very bad to learn this way because it isn't at all like real life.

Anyway, I just loaded back to 2.0n. But I keep updating to try the beta. Hopefully our feedback will help make this a better version.

I have done the uninstall / reinstall a couple of times. And also saving the fresh 2.0n directory before you upgrade works. Just delete the 2.5xx directory and replace with the fresh 2.0n directory.

To install 2.0n do you just run the installation executable on top of 2.5?

If I delete the folder I have to start all over from 1.4i onwards...

I had problems with the 2.5 beta so I am going to wait until the final release copy. I had to uninstall the proigram and reinstall the 1.5 and then the 2.0n so I will wait on the final relase copy.

Installed 2.5k last night...

SOUNDS SOUNDS SOUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I they really need to go play G4.5 and listen to variable pitches when spooling up and down and in flight.

Other than that I noticed Auto's are A LOT tougher, esp on smaller heli's, which is a good thing.

The collective is more agressive though still not "crack-like" on G4.5.

Overall it's getting there.

Thanks to the Phoenix team for allowing the public to test and comment on the new BETA's!
