The model behaves alright in autos but certainly does not sound the same.

Whoever put that auto rotation sound in needs to be shot lol!

Just go out there and record a real RC electric heli doing a auto with a high gain mic. Edit as needed. (nitro has engine idle sound which can be added in from sim sounds)

Sound is horrible...

Whe I first flew Pheonix 2.00n I got the distinct impression that sound effects quality was not not on the list of high priorities when they put this sim together, how it could be any worse in 2.5 I dont know.

I had a quik look in the sound folder, and I was wondering if it may be possible to simply record a better blade sound, engine sound or whatever into a wave file and plonk into the sound directory.

Hell just have one of your mates stand there with a mic at the feild while you punch out a few tic tocs, or find a vid somewhere and cut a wav file out of it. Used to do it with MS simulator all the time.

But it does beg the question, why on earth couldnt a group of profesional software writers do exactly the same thing, the sim is good but the sound effects are a complete joke IMO.

Sound

I've noticed that the sounds are different for different helis. On the Vibe 50 I can't get any blade farts; however on the Evo 50 I do.

The physics are off in pitch control at mid stick. You can notice it while doing a flip to inverted or upright. When you try to maintain a hover after the flip the model sinks.

The cyclic feels like it is flybarless now. Which is weird. But then again I have only flown flybarless a few times. It feels to linear. And around center it seems like some other force is centering it?

I agree the auto's seem ok but the sound is weird. They are not as easy as 2.0q. And you can't drop an auto out of the sky anymore and get lots of headspeed at the bottom.

Hopefully the physics issues get worked on more. I was always looking forward to funnels being fixed when they got weird after 2.0n

IT's what I do.

Yes, would be nice for funnels to be fixed. Although it seems better than with 2.0 That was awful.

Hello

There is one thing that I can't understand. There are here so many pro's and good 3D pilots, why do they not make a realistic sim.

I had reflex for many years, still love it.Now I have phoenix to.I love sims but as someone ask me of it is realistic, then I say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I wish that there was more feedback here ore movies with cam stick and some explanation how to do some maneuvers from the pro's here.Maybe a topic with only 3D masters figures in phoenix would be fantastic.

PRACTISE MAKES PERFECT

um Phoenix feels pretty damn close to reality here..

the physics are very close.

I don't know what you feel is not realistic but at my level of flight and his.. ( sponsored pilot) he said hard 3d is pretty spot on.

I've gone back to RF4.5 for now.

I can do stuff in real life in my sleep (as well in RF4.5) which I cant simply do nicely in Phoenix (Funnels, piroflips, piro funnels), meaning, if I fly Phoenix, I will just learn "wrong".
Since v1.0 of phoenix, it has required too much cyclic input for such moves, and it just dont lock in like a real heli does (FBL or FB).

For me, with pretty much zero talent and where I have to learn the muscle-memory, it's not good to train on something that isnt like real life.

That said, RF4.5 isn't the golden box either, it took a good while, lots and lots of tweaking until it flew like my real machines, but in that one its possible, due to all complex setups.

Phoenix C was a huge improvment over A version though, hopefully they get it going since otherwise its really start to come along.

Normally I agree with pretty much all the things you say but I don't think this quote is accurate... Go do a funnel (tail down or up) in real life with any of the helis and compare it to the same model in the sim. It's not the same at all really, better than the last versions but not quite there. Still great orientation practice for them.

Most other manoeuvres are fine.

phoenix is becoming heavier and heavier. I have to tell that performance of my system with the same settings has noticeably dropped after update.

Mine stayed at 50-51 fps with vsync on through every update.
I thought the funnels felt as they do on my vbar 600n, or pretty close at least. They dont feel that way on my mikados though.

Ive been through RF 2-4.5, fs one, reflex, and now phoenix. Im extremely pleased with their support and attentiveness to the customers needs, as well as the accuracy of the physics.
