Ohh man... no bueno on my end over here...

I am only getting around 64FPS and it's very choppy. Yes I have tried the camera follow slider. I was getting around 260FPS or so with version 2.0. At least it's only Beta!

VooDooX, what are your computer specs?

Nice solid 60FPS here, which is the screen refresh rate, won't accept any less or any more. If you have more you'll get tearing.

I'll be hosting a session in a second, would be cool if you guys can join!

Are you talking about "Camera Speed" under "System", "Program Setup", and the "General" tab? If so, what is yours set to?

Man I turn on "Vertical Sync" my frame rates drop to 11FPS...

I have a Foxconn 7900GS (Overclocked version) and it seems to be struggling BIG time... It's only a 256MB card, but I was able to run BF2 at the highest setting without skipping a beat.

How do you tell what version of Direct X you are running? I can't remember the cmd name. What version of Direct X should v2.5 run? I remember someone mentioning that you have to use the latest version of direct x (which I installed when upgrading to v2.5) but if it's DX10, I don't think my video card can handle it...

Edit: Googled it... type dxdiag into the run screen and it will pop up. I am still running DX 9.0c... so who knows what my issue is.

Physics wise, the helis still float in the air as before. I can still do countless loops without giving any collective input. Also barrel rolls are a snap with no idle up. Just floats gracefully right through the move. I once did a barrel roll, and forgot to flip the idle up in real life!:

HAHA!

Well I downloaded the lastest driver for my video card with no changes... Still getting 11-14FPS in Vertsync mode and 64 in regular and is still choppy when up close.

Heres a screenshot from 2.0... and yes I could tell the difference between the faster frame rates

The sim has no idea what flight mode you're in. The sim's governor kicks in to 100% as soon as you go over about 25% on the throttle channel.
So of course, as long as you keep the stick above a quarter...

3 years is enough time wasted. Taking a break for a while.

I can switch flight modes with my RD8000... It knows throttle hold and idle up. I can sit on the ground with full -12 pitch and have 1800rpms or so. So I'm not sure what you are talking about.

The flight mode and throttle hold switches are not channels!

The only thing it sees is a change in throttle output. 0% for TH, whatever else for flight mode.
The sim does not know you've flipped a switch, all it knows is the throttle output has changed.

What's up with the inverted hover. You can leave the Heli 'grass cutting' inverted hands off.

The sim does not know you've flipped a switch, all it knows is the throttle output has changed.

The throttle hold channel is also the landing gear switch on airplanes so it does know that I have flipped a switch. You assign both of those switches as channnels when setting up your controller initially. I understand that it sees "0%" for TH when you flip the TH switch, because that's doing what it is supposed to do, put the throttle to 0%.

Just trying to get my brain straight. HAHA

It can be setup either way. You can asign your throttle hold switch too a channel in your tx and in turn assign that channel to the throttle hold function in Phoenix

OR

you can use throttle hold as per your real Heli. In other words as a mix on the throttle channel in your radio activated by a switch. this way no throttle hold function is assigned in Phoenix but your throttle % is adjusted by the tx.

Either way will work.

Regards

Fergus

Here I'm getting aroung 120fps so no complaints at that level... but the sound engine is just so unrealistic a nitro doesn't sound like a nitro anymore (much worse than 2.0n) especially at high rpms

(And yes I've tried to change setting on the Sound tab when you edit the model...)

yes the camera follow slider is what i used it worked for me but i guess it doesn't work for everyone with tearing also try reducing the resolution i know you don't want to but it will help with tearing i told pheonix about the issue before public but they seemed to think it was just something i was doing wrong lol

Also im running

2ghz Quad core AMD
Nvidia 8800 GT video card
4GIGS DDR2 RAM
2TB Harddrive
