Im a fan of Venom, Spiderman's enemy. My roadracing leathers and helmet were done in venom colors this year, so I had to go with Venom for my canopy ;-)

What kind of paint works best on these things, the nitro oil plays hell on it, im going to do something in red and white, might copy the Vibe SG scheme. What works best for fuel proofing?

Arizona Heli is doing some canopies...

And, I've sent him the vector file for the Kasama90 and Pegasus, and I believe he has a few others....

He has the files from TMMugen's canopy (not the green one)...

My first canopy has turned out to be terrible for painting.... He told me the canopy is of very LOW quality. How is it that something that is so awesome everywhere else in the heli ends up with a crappy canopy?????

I'm bummed, I have a canopy that can't be used except for beating on..

Oh well... I hope my second canopy from my spare kit is good enough for paint... Or, I'll be very upset!

The are called vector files, and I can only guess they are used with some sort of CAD program, to print out decals and such.

Yes, these are files that can be open with illustrator.

I just give the files to those stickers shop and they are good to open and cut out the size you needed.

actually I used to be in the fiberglass business and whoever is making the canopies is making them with more expensive and time consuming materials. They're using a chem release on the molds which is an expensive 7 step process so you dont have to gelcoat the molds before lay up. Its actually nice because all you do is dust the canopy with a good polyester primer(which fills any pin holes..it will infact fill up to 200 grit sanding lines) and shoot it. was about a 15 minute prep for me before paint. You want to use a good automotive paint and clear to shoot canopies in order to protect them from the nitro. Make sure you roll the edges to the inside edge with your clear and you'll be safe. 2-3 coats of clear and it'll never be effected by the nitro. REMEMBER WITH PAINTING....IT IS ALL IN THE PREP
