It won't stick. I've seen a few painted plastic Raptor lids. They look ok for a few months, but thats it.

3 years is enough time wasted. Taking a break for a while.

if your gunna paint the canopi it has to be spotliss and use lots of flex agent in the primer and the paint and clear coat it to make it fuel proof.
lots of work easier to buy a aftermarket painted canopi if you can get one cheaper too.

From a cost standpoint it's probably as cheap to buy a Canomod prepainted canopy for the Raptor if you can find one of their designs that pleases you. Otherwise, you can paint the plastic canopy. Do a search on RR for info about "bleach bottle" canopy painting, "flame treating". Several of us have covered this in detail several times now.

You can do a very nice job on the plastic canopies if you take your time and follow some of the experienced advice about prep.

I met a guy this weekend that works at an auto body shop.

He had a Raptor 50 plastic canopy that, to my surprise, he painted about 4 years ago that today looks absolutely fantastic.

He said the key to success is "auto bumper primer".

It is all in the prep work, sanding, cleaning and repeat. Some of the pro painters still paint the plastic canopies. you might look for one of them that you like and save the work and hassle of doing it yourself unless you enjoy that type of thing.

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

and if you can't paint (as in my case) wrap it in vinyl. my MT below is all vinyl. one canopy is digitally printed and the other is using stock 3m vinyl.
