Gohbee Aviation Stinger 30-90 > Question about the Stinger 50 metal rotor head

I bought the metal rotor head and the original plastic blade grips have two washers just opposite the grip. When I took the metal grips off I noticed it didn't have them. Do I need to take the grips off and put them on?

BTW this is my first Gohbee kit and I have to say, when you bag the parts up label them please. Had this been my first build I would've been very confused.

hey Billingsnutz, I don't use the metal head components on my two Stingers so I couldn't say from experience. How ever I did look at the metal head upgrade on the Gohbee web-site & it listed these items
* Aluminum Rotor Grips
* Aluminum Main Rotor Hub
* Feathering & Thrust Bearings
* Spindle & Shims
I'm only guessing that the shims need to be installed. I know that there's some Gohbee fliers still shows up here from time to time & I'd bet they would know for sure. Flyingfool is a Gohbee rep & he's very knowledgeable on Gohbee kits. If all else fails I'd call David at Gohbee

Thanks for the reply. This forum is pretty dead. Must not be a lot of Gohbee owners any more.

Yea I believe your right. Not much chatter here anymore. I still check often though. I fly my Stingers two or three days a week...sometimes more.

Still some Gohbees around

A few still here but not dead. I do know where there are is one 50 NIB and I will have my 90 flying pretty soon. FLYINGFOOL is the man for the answers. The shims are to shim the blade grips to the head and dampers and should be there.

Yes the shims should be used.

Dialarotor
From a distance it looks like a good deal for that Stinger 50.

I have no idea how many Stingers are out there put repair parts are still selling well and will continue to be supported.
