So, I'm seeing a TON of votes for Phoenix over RF 4.5, but what is it is about Phoenix that is making it stand above the rest?? If it's just graphics... well, that's negligible... but if the physics are REALLY that much better, then it's something to seriously consider then.

I've never flown on Phoenix and only have RF, which I'm happy with, but being that I've never had an opportunity to compare it to any other, I can't say.

How many guys voting for the Phoenix have never flown RF G3.5 or G4.5?

I know that there is at least one honest post out there.

I've flown both, and .......

true I haven't owned the RF 4.5 but I have tried it at the hobby shop

the supplied controler feels like a toy
the menu is lacking for selecting aircraft
the program is also computer resource heavy

Phoenix the extra models are free
the models in the menu are catagorized
you use your own TX
depending on what version you are running it is computer friendly

Oh did I mention price !

regardless of what sim you choose JUST GET ONE

Phoenix is closest to the real thing, easiest to change parameters, free upgrades, if your heli doesn't fly right change parameters with the sliders, after phoenix reflex xtr is perhaps as good a sim, but very difficult to change parameters compared to phoenix, I flew RF 4.5 many times and don't like it at all, all my friends sold RF 4.5 and bought phoenix. No need to wonder why!
However as some people actually prefer RF and even FS one my advice is for you to fly them all and then buy phoenix

Common sense may not be common after all

I use to fly Realflight and I had a few tricks that I had learned on the sim and could do them without any problems. Every time I tried them on the real thing I was unsuccessful. I bought Phoenix after a friend suggested to me to try it out. The first time I tried those same tricks on Phoenix they looked exactly like they did when I tried them in real life. I was sold from that point on. A few weeks later after practicing on Phoenix I could do those tricks in real life.

Phoenix!

I only used Real Flight G4.5, so I cant say whats best.
Realflight G4.5 tought me to hover good, tail-in, side-in, and nose-in all perfectly.

And now experinceing Forward Flight Slowly thou, on the FF.

Supost to be getting Phoenix soon, and hope it will teach me something new, or give me a new experince, at the least, and use my own tx to get a feel for it that way, with out have to plug my tx into the Futaba interlink.

Stay away from FS One. Updates are nonexistent, physics are awful. If your running vista you have to turn off some of the OS security for it to work.

I learned to hover with RF 3.5. Flown RF 4.5 at the hobby shops and like the feel. This winter I plan on getting Phoenix because of the positive feedback in the forum and I have a spectrum.

Gorgeous day today and I'm off work. She who must be obeyed is out of town. Off to the field for the day!

Look, I learned to fly a Blade 400 on Phoenix. I thought in real life it would be harder, on the contrary...It was easier!!! You want to fly a heli or practice 3D get PHOENIX!!!! I know own a mini titan SE and a Trex 500. Even had it out with two hawks that were trying to take me out because I was flying on their terf...I outflew them...PHOENIX!!!
